Xavier's POV

No one spoke.

I think they were too shocked to say anything. It was silent, all that could be heard was my father's heavy breathing.

"What are you talking about uncle?" Right now, only Conner had the guts to question my dad. We all knew to not talk to dad when he was angry but the situation required some light shone on it. Conner was the brave one.

"Dad..." I whispered. What is wrong with him? How can he blame mom for something so big?

"This is the tr-truth!" My father's voice cracked in the end.

Truth? Do you even know what the truth means? Does he know who he is accusing?

"Honey, what are you saying?" My mom asked, just as shocked as everyone present there.

"You know it very well Allison!" My dad yelled making mom flinch.

"Dad stop shouting at mom! How dare you blame her? You have no prove let alone right to blame her like thi-"

"Do you think that I am a kid standing here?" His nostrils flared with anger that was itching to be unleashed. "Blaming this woman for killing Sapphire and Erica without any proof?" My father cut me in.

"Pr-proof?" My eyes widened. What proof does dad have?

"Ruskin, stop this nonsense. I think we should talk in private. I don't want to create any more problems for my family than we already have" My mother's voice was strong this time, but my dad wasn't having any of it. He growled in irritation, but only I and Conner heard. We looked at each other, sending signals. What signals they were, I do not know. He provided reassurance, that I wasn't the only one who found this absurd.

"I do have a proof Alison" My dad held up the letter and I saw my mother body stiffen a bit.

"Xavier, I think it's time for your father to take his medicines an-"

"What is the proof?" Erica's mother, who was quiet until now, spoke up. Her face was damp with tears, her eyes red and swollen. The worst part was, her features reminded me of Erica.

"There is no such proof! " My mother finally lost her temper. "Ruskin stop this nonsense right now! You can't blame me without any solid proof and you have no right to turn Xavier against me."

"You want proof?" My dad sprung forward, towering over mother. "This is the damn proof Alison. Your God damn handwriting is the proof!" He held the letter to her face. My mother's face went pale, her eyes wide, her breath quickened, her body stiffened and her fingers bunched into fists. For a moment, no one said a thing.

"This, this is not my writing" Mother whispered, it seemed like she was trying to convince herself.

"Oh really? You still have the nerve to lie to my face even when your true intentions are clear to everyone here?" My father yelled in disbelief. I was surprised that no one had come to see what the commotion was about.

"I didn't..." My mother tried to speak but her voice was left trailing.

"Tell us why! Why did you do this? Why did you hurt our son?!"

"I didn't do it!"

"Yes, you did!"

"No, I didn't, stop blaming me, Ruskin!"

"Alison," Dad warned her.

"I did not do-"

"TELL ME THE TRUTH ALISON OR I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL! I'LL DRAG YOU TO COURT AND LET YOU ROT IN THERE!" He roared. I felt like his eyes would fall out as they were bulging out dangerously.
