[Emily and Marco, a year after their marriage]

Emily was busy with the contract in which Marco asked her to review. It was odd because Marco never asked her to do any work before specifically his work because just like he would always say, she didn't have to. But it's not really a problem for Emily since she enjoyed working in the company. So with a smile, Emily flipped the paper to the next page when her phone started ringing. She picked it up with her eyes still on the papers,

"Yes?" She asked.

"Mam, Sir Marco is asking for you in his office." Said, Cristine, her secretary.

Emily wondered. He could've called her directly but he didn't. Shaking the thoughts off, she stood up, grabbed her phone, and leaved her office. Her secretary even smiled extra cheery than the usual when she came out.

"Weird" she said to herself, smiling by the way.

Marco's office isn't that far from Emily's. In fact his office is located just across hers.

"Marco?" Emily called, holding the knob.

"Teka lang, mahal!" Marco yelled just behind the door.

Emily heard a chair being dragged on the floor.

"Sandali lang talaga, mahal!" Marco yelled again and Emily was sure that she heard his voice struggled.

"What are you doing?"

"Hanging this balloon up for my surprise for—" Marco realized that he just told her about his surprise.

"Aaah Emilyyyyy!"

Emily giggled, finally opening the door. She saw Marco on the table holding the balloons. His office was fully decorated with flowers, rose petals on the floor, hanging balloons which he didn't finished decorating and a big "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MAHAL" on the wall. There was also a small table at the center, clothed with  silk gold, two plates with sets of utensils and a bottle of wine. On his office table was a bouquet of bloody red roses and a small blue rectangular box tied in a red ribbon.

"You just killed my surprise." Marco mumbled, stepping down the table.

Emily raised her brow before a demure laugh escaped from her mouth. She walked to him, put her arms around his neck and mumbled

"Happy anniversary, Mahal." sealing it with a brief kiss.**
