Emily has been exchanging glances back and forth unto the papers on her table-the budget report of the company actually, and to the computer screen-consisting the anual report her secretary emailed to her last night. It's her second week working in Montenegro corporation after her mother in law, Donya Margarette, appointed her to the position Marco had left. Emily was happy that she got to work again in the field she's been enjoying for years but, on the contrary, she's feeling a bit unuseful to the company. The company will obviously run even without her help, she thought of. She's not being stubborn or what but, she just felt that the company doesn't need her at all.
Her thoughts was interrupted by a knock on the door. She looked up and saw her secretary peeking inside.
"Ma'am, magsisimula na po 'yong meeting. Nandun na po ang lahat, kayo na lang ang hinihintay."
She nodded and got her things.
They went to the conference room just near to her office and she was welcomed by her team. She smiled when they greeted her and sat at the chair that was reserved for her. They started the report and she was practically noting some important points in the paper her secretary has given to her. They where on the middle of the report when they heard a knock on the door. They all stopped and directed their attention to the door. Her brows met when she saw Marco came inside the room, smiling at everyone.
He was greeted by the people inside and he simply smiled and nodded as a response pacing towards where she's seated.
"Hi." He said and kissed the top of her head.
"Anong ginagawa mo dito?" She asked, her eyes on him.
"Binibisita ka." He answered an arm rested on her shoulder.
She heard a collective, yiieh on her team as his husband sported her signature grin.
"Marco... nasa kalagitnaan kami ng meeting, alam mo ba 'yon?" She said trying her best not to sound irritated.
"Alam ko.." he answered and squeezed her shoulder.
"Eh bakit nang-iistorbo ka?" This time she did really sound irritated.
Marco chuckled and leaned forward, his face only inch away from her.
"Ang sungit naman ng asawa ko.." He said in his most lambing voice and kissed the tip of her nose which earned him a slight slap on his chest.
"Marco..." Emily warned him. She bowed her head for she knew that all eyes where already on them.
Marco knew how Emily hated when he's making lambing to her in front of other people which he really find so cute.
He straightened his back and tapped her small back.
"Okay, alis na'ko. Tawagan mo'ko pag natapos na 'yong meeting niyo. I took a reservation on your favorite restaurant. Let's have lunch together, hmmn?"
She nodded as a response and smiled at him.
He kissed her forhead and looked at her team who's pretending to read the folder they're all holding. He smiled and signaled them to continue their meeting. He looked at her wife again and whispered, I love you before walking outside the room.**
