In this chapter you are referred as Savannah Winters, a Gryffindor same year as Draco. It is set in year 4, hope you enjoy :)

With the first task completed and christmas coming around the corner, students from Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrangs were asking out dates for the Yule Ball. You were curious as to who would ask you as you didn't want to spend the occasion alone in your common room. All the boys liked you, well your looks, no one has ever come up to you to ask about wants the inside. Even some Slytherins made eyes at you, which surprised you because of all the house pride, one in particular. But you ignored as you knew it would never happen.

You walked in the great hall for breakfast and sat with your fellow Gryffindors. "Good morning Savannah, you alright?" Hermione greeted as you sat down next to her. "Good morning, yeah I'm alright. Harry hows you arm?" You asked smiling.

"alright I guess" he replied then continued with his breakfast. A small boy named Nigel came over and handed Ron a parcel. "Parcel for you Mr Weasley" he said, Ron looked over and thanked him. He stood there staring at Harry with a massive smile on his face. You and Hermione leaned to the side to see what he wanted "Later Nigel" Ron told him and he walked off "I said I'd give him Harrys' autograph" you and Hermione rolled your eyes and looked at the parcel Ron was given.

Just then Polar, your grey striped snowy owl flew in with letter with a delicate red rose landed in front of you. You smiled and stroked its beak "thanks Polar" you said before it flew off. Harry, Ron and Hermione looked at you eager to find out who your letter was from "Ok, ok ill open it. Why all the stares?" you said with your arms up in defence. Hermione let out small giggle "because you rarely get letters, plus there is a rose. Come on read it!" You laughed and looked on the front of the letter. It had Savannah Winters written in neat writing you couldn't recognise. You went to open it and saw X written on the back "ooo is it a love letter" Harry said, you glared at him "shut up Harry" you said shaking your head smiling. You opened the letter and read it to yourself first. It read:

Dear Savannah,

I present you this rose as a gift to you. Its delicacy is an example of your beauty and charm. You smile brightens up my day and is the cure to my sorrows. Everyday we see each other, I wish more that I could be with you.

You smiled and you could feel yourself blush a deep crimson. You couldn't believe the words written in the letter. Harry and Ron started grinning "Savannah's blushing!" They said a little too loudly. You looked at the grinning buffoons opposite you "Shut up" was all you could say. Hermione picked up the letter and read it "Oh my goodness this is adorable!" she complimented handing you back the letter. You gave one last look before putting it in your pocket. You picked up the red rose and admired its colour. "Who do think its from?" Harry asked, you shook your head "I have no idea, anyway lets take a look at what Ron's got" You replied grinning.

Ron opened the parcel revealing a rather interesting looking dress robe. "Mum sent me a dress" Ron gasped, you started laughing at the look of disgust on his face.

"well it does match your eyes, is there a bonnet? Ahh" Harry asked making you laugh even harder.

"Put those down Harry, Ginny these must be for you" Ron said walking over to Ginny. She made a look of disgust "I'm not wearing that, thats ghastly!"

You and the rest of Gryffindor table laughed as Hermione pointed out to Ron that they were dress robes. You picked up your rose and stood up to leave for classes, you couldn't help but notice intoxicating smell of the rose. The smell of strong cologne and spearmint filled your senses as you walked out the Great Hall. However you didn't notice a smirking Slytherin looking at you as you left.
