Vinnie

"Hey dude."

I lift my head in response, looking over to Alex while I retract the tape measure in my hand.

He glances around us, as if there's anyone in this bathroom besides us that could possibly hear us before he lifts his leg and let's out the most foul fart I've ever heard in my life.

"Jesus fucking Christ Alex!" I yell at him while I slam the Tape measure down onto the bathroom sink. "You're gross bro."

Alex just manically laughs as he follows me out of the bathroom, the both of us making a break for it before the smell kills us.

We step out into the hallway, just as Hera goes running past us like a lunatic.

I don't know what about this house has awakened whatever beast lives inside her, but she seems to love it here. She's been so active, running around and playing so much more. Maybe Finch has to do with it, but Kitty is pretty convinced that it's the extra space that she has to roam around in.

Speaking of- I should probably go check on Kitty.

I take a step forward but Alex steps in front of me, pulling my attention to him. He puts his hands on his hips and gives me a disapproving look.

"Where are you going?" He asks pointedly.

I scowl at him and go to step around him but he moves in front of me again. "Dude-"

"You've checked on her like six times in the last two hours." He throws out his hand, "If she needed something, she'd come to get you."

I frown at him, and shake my head. "You and I both know that she wouldn't."

"Vee." Alex looks at me in defeat, "Kitty is in the same house as you- a floor bellow us. We'd hear if there was something wrong."

I clench my jaw at him, my anxiety sky rocketing, but I take a step back. Alex pats my shoulder while I shake my head at him and walk back into the bathroom.

Kitty just doesn't listen to me. Even after our conversation this morning, I woke up to breakfast made. I'm frustrated with her, to say the least. I know that she knows her own limits but she is the type of person who pushes those limits... and who will purposely not listen to instructions, just to prove a point.

The last time I checked on Kitty, she was in the pink bedroom reading one of the diary's left behind, but that doesn't mean she's still there. Fueling my hypothesis is the fact that Hera is running around up here and not up Kitty's ass. Those animals act like she's their mother Loki. (*AN: not the marvel Loki but the Norse accurate one... just look him and his kids up*)

Something about seeing Kitty with the animals depresses me a bit though. I hate kids, can't fucking stand their crying and the pestering questions... but that was Kitty and I's baby that we lost. It was something that we made together, a symbol of us- and not only did we lose that, but we lost a bit of Kitty.

I refuse to lose any more to this bullshit.

I huff out and try to turn back around but Alex pushes me further into the bathroom, not allowing me to escape.

My annoyance flares, "Fuck you Alex. Let me go."

Alex puts his hands on the doorframe, blocking my exit. "No can do ghost rider."

I grit my teeth and try to keep my voice calm, but I fail miserably, "I'm about to tweak. Get the fuck out of my way."

"You need to give yourself time to heal too." Alex starts, "You've been so consumed in Kitty that you've not given yourself time to breathe."
