Chapter 5

Steve's P.O.V
I stared in shock, this couldn't be Dustin. He killed a whole swarm of monsters within seconds. "D-Dustin? Is that-?" Eddie asked carefully. Dustin flinched at his name, his eyes turned back to normal, the blue colour shined with tears, his ears went back to normal, the tails disappeared, his teeth flattened and his claws returned to nails. He looked at us and ran over, squashing us in a hug, I transformed into myself again and returned the embrace. "Are you ok? I mean besides that whole, ya know?" I asked him carefully. He nodded. "Yeah, I remember Vecna talking to me, saying that I'm the key to his success or something? That I'm the embodiment of the power you two could have if you combined your strengths with each other? I don't remember it exactly but he basically said that-." "Steve and I are stronger together? That about right?" Eddie interrupted. Dustin nodded. I turned to Eddie terrified. "You don't think...you don't think Vecna wanted us to be like this? Do you?" I asked cautiously. "Yeah, I think he wanted us on his side so he could use both of our abilities and create what Dustin is now. A killing machine. An unmatched power. And now he has Dustin, he might come for him now, but that doesn't mean we are in the clear either." He theorised.

Dustin started to panic. "I can't believe this, he made me this...this monster so I could be his killing warrior? No way, I can't." I hugged him tightly, Eddie joining in. "It's ok, we won't let him get to you, you'll be ok." I said kindly. "In the meantime we will help you get through this ok? You'll be ok." He smiled at us and hugged us again. "Um I don't mean to interrupt but we need to go, we don't know if there's anything else coming or not, so we should get out of here." Robin rationalised. We all nodded and made our way through the gate. We all broke the surface of the water and climbed into the boat. "Thank god! You guys were gone for ages! Is everyone ok?" Mike said over the walkie, left in the boat from earlier. I picked it up and spoke into it. "Yeah we're fine, almost had Robin turned into a vampire but Eddie sucked the turning venom out so it's all good. Oh yeah, and we were right, Dustin's both a werewolf and a vampire."

We all reached the shore and went back to my house to discuss things. Everyone sat on the couch awaiting our explanations. After the briefing, the room went silent. "So Steve and Eddie are still wanted by Vecna even though he has Dustin now? How power hungry is this guy?!" Lucas exclaimed. "Trust me, he's very power hungry." El said ominously. As we were talking I noticed Dustin growling under his breath. I knew that growl, he was hungry. I put my hand on his shoulder. "Hey it's ok, I have some meat and blood in my fridge ok? I know that your hunger pangs will be going haywire during your first time." I told him softly, he had a small smile in thanks and I took him to the fridge. Eddie took notice and walked over. "Kids first hunger urge?" He asked kindly. Dustin nodded. Eddie smiled and put a hand on his shoulder. "It's ok Henderson, Steve and I will teach you all we know ok? That includes feasting." Dustin smiled, he doubled over and growled in pain. I quickly grabbed two bags of meat and two bags of blood and we rushed Dustin out of the room, Nancy called out to us as we left. "Is everything ok?" "Yeah it's just the kids first time dealing with the hunger stuff. So instead of making you all throw up at the sight of meat and blood we're taking him up to my room, we'll be back in a sec." I said. She nodded in understanding and I continued up the stairs, following Eddie and Dustin.

We entered my room and Dustin sat on my bed, growling in hunger. "Ok what do you prefer? Blood or meat? Since your both a werewolf and a vampire we aren't sure." I asked the boy. He just shrugged. "I have no idea, I guess I'll just try both." He said unsure. He grabbed all four bags and tore open the first meat bag, his mouth watering at the sight of deer meat, he grabbed it and immediately started to chow down on it. He sucked all the blood out of it and all of the meat. He grabbed the second bag of meat and continued to feast. When it got to the blood bags he did what Eddie usually does and just sucks it straight out of the bag, not leaving a single drop. He did the same to the last bag. "Shit. That was a lot of meat and blood man. You must've been seriously hungry." Eddie said dumbfounded. Dustin nodded, his fangs glistening with blood, meat stuck in between them, I grabbed a towel from the closet and handed it to him.

He quickly wiped his mouth and lied back on my bed. "And now I'm full. Shit. I guess I do have both ends of the diet. Aren't you guys hungry after watching me eat all of that? I would've saved you some!" Dustin said sincerely. Eddie and I laughed a little. "No it's ok Henderson, since we've both gone through several days without a supernatural diet it's kinda here and there, so not a lot. Unless we are pretty hungry, but I think we're good for now." I said. Dustin nodded understandingly and just sighed. "I can't believe this. I don't even know what to call this." He said sadly looking at his hands, his claws still out from tearing into the meat, his hands covered in blood and meat under his fingernails. "Um, I think were-vamp? Vamp-wolf? Half-werewolf half-vampire? I honestly don't know." I said unsure. Eddie smiled and ruffled Dustin's hair. "How about for now we can call it hybrid. Ya know how hybrids are made up of multiple things? Hybrids usually two. Maybe even tri-brid. Since your half werewolf, half vampire and half human?" He suggested. Dustin laughed. "Let's go with hybrid. It sounds cooler." He said happily.

We made our way down the stairs and met up with everyone else. "You ok Dustin?" Will asked the hybrid. That's fun to say, heh, hybrid, anyways. Dustin nodded and sat down on a pillow on the floor. "I think so, I managed to get my hunger under control, but it's definitely gonna take some getting used to." He said. At the moment he was cleaned from all the blood and remaining meat and his features had disappeared. "What about those other forms you had? They looked fucking sick." Eddie praised. Dustin looked confused. "Other forms?" He asked. "Yeah, you had wings like Eddie but had fur on the top, and you became a wolf like me but much smaller and your hind legs and tail were smooth like Eddie's wings. And you had two tails instead of one. One wolf tail and one long black tail. The same for your eyes, one yellow and one red." I summaried. He looked shocked. "Shit! I don't remember any of that! Should I try do it again?" He asked curiously. "Hell yeah! I wanna see it!" Eddie said enthusiastically, probably trying to cheer him up. Dustin smiled at the encouragement and nodded. "Ok, I'll try. I might need some help though." He said joyfully. Eddie and I looked at each other, a smile on our faces, we nodded to him. Let the lessons begin.
