Chapter 14

Dustin's P.O.V
I kept wandering around the upside down, I was scared and hungry, both human hungry and supernaturally hungry. I had no choice but to feast on unsuspecting demodogs and demobats, but the tastes weren't fully filling me up. I kept prying at the gates, trying to get through but nothing worked. I still had to check on one more gate, the gate at the trailer park, I was still at the gate where the watergate was. So I ran over to the trailer park as fast as I could, but the whole time it felt like someone was watching me, I kept turning my head to see if anyone was there. The hope was slowly building but then slowly disappeared as I saw no one was there. I quickly shook it off and I approached the trailer park. I walked over to where Eddie's trailer would be, as I entered I found my old spear, the knife on the end was a little wobbly but I didn't care. I started to poke at the gate.

Whilst I was jabbing at the portal it wouldn't open, I sighed in frustration, as I worked I felt that being watched feeling again. What the fuck was going on? Was someone trying to reach me or something? I quickly shrugged it off and continued to work. Unfortunately my luck continued to get worse, before I was about to stab the gate again I was whisked away, I hit the ground hard. I winced in pain, my back sore, I gently stood up and took in my surroundings. I was back at the upside down school, inside the gym, I had no idea why I kept getting taken here. But then I saw the pitch black vines, they were squirming everywhere, reaching out towards me. I willed my wings out and just hovered above them so they couldn't get me. As I hovered I heard screeching from outside, it sounded like the demobats and demodogs, confused I slowly flew towards the large windows at the top of the gym. I saw a whole swarm of demobats and a pack of demodogs gathered nearby, heading towards the direction of watergate, I was confused on why but a voice interrupted my thoughts. "Not too long now Dustin. Your time is almost ready." I knew that voice, it belonged to one person...The son of a bitch Vecna.

I turned to see him below me, his shrivelled skin was pulsating with tendrils all over him, he extended his enlarged hand and I slowly started to drift downwards, much to my hatred. I tried to fly away but the pull on me was too strong. "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!" I screamed. "I want you, to join me, you can help me. You can serve me as my warrior. Your friends cannot help you now. They don't have a choice, once they arrive they will suffer. Unlike Steven and Edward, they will become my soldiers, just like you." He announced menacingly. A cold shiver went down my spine. The others were trying to find me, again. But he still wanted Steve and Eddie, wasn't I who he wanted? Was I made this...this monster for nothing? "If you still need Eddie and Steve so badly why do you want me? Why did you make me this way?! Are you that desperate for power you asshole?!" I yelled at the monster. The vines only wrapped around me in response, with my wings still out I tried to get away again but they only grabbed at them, pulling them, making me cry out in pain. I tried to become a wolf to escape but even then the vines were too strong. I was just suspended in place, useless.

Vecna stretched a hand towards my face, moving my curls from my eyes, I flinched my head back. "You are still needed, much like Steven and Edward you have much potential, so it would not be wise to waste it. Such power in my hands, I can use both you and your two friends to my command. Why have you separate when I can use all three of you? They have the individual power but you, you possess all of their abilities. You are the most powerful out of the three of you." He said to me. I was astounded, I can't believe this, he really was power hungry. He didn't want us to be apart, but together because of me. I am the key to their possession. He's going to use me like bait, to lure them towards me, so he can take control of them again. Hell he might even possess me so I can get them to his side. Like he did with them individually. "No way in hell am I gonna let you hurt them! Just take me, I have everything you want!" I begged angrily. He only chuckled coldly. "You fail to listen. I need all three of you in order for my plan to succeed. Without all of you together my plan will surely fail. In fact, they have already arrived." He said. I stood there in shock, the vines around me grew tighter, as if sensing my need to sprint after them. My wings were hanging in the air, I couldn't get them back in, the vines wrapped around the bone structure tightly. I was afraid if I moved them they would be torn right off. Even then I tried to struggle out of the restraints, the vines on my wings moved making my wings move unnaturally, almost moving them out of place. I felt them slowly tearing, I let out a scream of pain, the touch of warm blood streamed down my back.

"You really shouldn't try moving Dustin. If you move your wings anymore they will be torn off and they will take a while to grow back. But for now they will just heal. Now stay completely still and no more harm shall come to you." Vecna said in a dark tone. I growled at him. His hand stretched towards my face, I wanted to scream, I wanted to smack his hand from my face but my arms were restrained from vines and they covered my mouth too, the warm tears built in my eyes. As Vecna was about to continue a loud howl broke the air. Out of confusion Vecna blew the roof off of the gym, exposing the red covered sky, lightning sounded in the distance, lighting up a scene before my very eyes. I didn't know whether to cry or laugh in joy. I saw a whole swarm of demobats and pack of demodogs surrounding two figures. A large brown haired wolf, and a winged creature with a spear and shield mounted on top. It was them. Eddie and Steve.

The scene looked like it was taken straight out of a movie, the most majestic thing I've ever seen. The demobats flew around Eddie, hell some of them even perched on his shoulders. All of the demodogs stood proudly by Steve, snarling and faces open, revealing the rows of their fangs. I lightly laughed in joy, I heard Vecna snarl in hate. "If they want to come and get you, they can." Vecna darkly said. He brought his hand to my face and my head rolled backwards. I gasped for air but nothing came, I could only hear what was going on around me. "DUSTIN!" I heard Eddie scream. Then I heard a loud roar sound out, and paws pounding against the ground, the screeching of the demodogs and demobats got louder and higher pitched. After a second everything went quiet. The world went dark, then in a flash it was bright again. Vecna was gone, having disappeared in the sudden blackout. I saw Eddie and Steve approach me, but I didn't think I would be myself for much longer. "Henderson! Henderson it's ok!" Eddie said panicked. I only let out one word as a warning. "Run." Then once again the world around me faded to black.
