in the beginning, thorin was well confused, to say the least, the two of you grew closer during the mission to take back Erebor which was a fact that the company often made sure to joke about it.the first time it happened was when he fell and hit his head you were close to him so it was only natural that it was you who helped him.
"Are you all right?" you asked your hands resting on his neck looking for any bleeding
"no I'm fine" he grunted
the main part of the company was doing their own thing setting up camp for the night not really giving the two of you any thought.you smiled as you moved his head closer to your as you kissed where he had hit "there, "you laughed at the light pink that dusted his cheeks before standing up and leaving trying to see if there was anything you could help with.Thorin thought it was you just being you but when you did it a second time he started to wish it would happen more and more.it did help that you were around a head or so taller than the king so head kisses just became constant and soon the company began to pick up on it.the constant teasing from his nephews or the knowing looked from Balin Gandalf and Bilbo. the night before the battle of the 5 armies you found yourself and thorin sitting on the roof of the dock house not talking just trying to take in everything before the morning.
"Can I ask you something "Thorin brock the silence
"ask away" you turn to face him
"Why do you kiss my four heads?"
you blushed how could a dwarf be so smart yet so dim you moved closer kissing his four head once more before whipping in his ear
"Because I care about you Thorin" you whispered moving back
"you care about me," he asked confused as to what you meant
"I see you as more than a friend dumbass" you laughed the pink tint you had grown to love spread over his cheeks.
Thorin placed two fingers under your chin making you face his he moved to place his lips on the bridge of your nose
