I stared at the ceiling of the basement panting out of breath as my whole body ached. All day without a break I've been running at Galen trying to hit him but I barely even see him move when he punches or pushes me away.
"I'm pathetic." I groaned sitting up and looking at Galen who just stood there watching me. "You move so fast, I can barely see it. What? Do I have to go all beast and put all my senses on high alert to see you move even a fraction?"
Galen raised an eyebrow at me. "That's exactly what you should do." He said and I groaned again standing up.
"Okay." I nodded taming my heavy breathing before expanding all of my senses. I could hear everything, see every detail, smell the scents of everyone who has been in the basement, and I could feel the slight shift of the air around me. "Okay." I said again looking at Galen intently before running at him full speed. Finally, I saw and felt him move. I froze and dodged his push making surprise flash across the man's face. I ducked down under his arms and swung my own up at his face within his guard but he was still faster than me and was able to lean back dodging my swing before turning slightly and palming my side. I felt one of my ribs crack under his palm and pain flared through my side making me cry out as I was thrown across the ground.
"Ow." I hissed holding my side where my rib broke. "That hurts." I complained only to feel it start to fade quickly. "What?" I asked when the pain faded and I felt my side to see that my rib was back intact.
"We heal faster than humans, a cracked rib is nothing to us." Galen told me. "That was good, if you do that again every time I might even have to start fighting back properly."
I gave him a small smile and stood up extending my senses again. I breathed in and attacked. I did this again five more times, each time being thrown across the room without even leaving a scratch on him. I fell to my knees gasping for breath after the last time I was thrown. Sweat pored off me and I felt dried blood on my nose and lips from where Galen had broken my nose. The door that leads back up to the mansion opened and my Mistress walked in and I was disappointed when Beatrice wasn't with her this time.
My Mistress raised her eyebrows at me before turning to Galen. "She looks ready to pass out, what have you done to my pet Galen?" She asked him.
"She has quite the stamina, we haven't had a break since the start and she hasn't complained once." Galen told her. "Tomorrow I will teach her a few techniques and then we'll do the same again. She is a fast learner and I'm sure she's going to be very useful to you in the future."
"Fantastic." My Mistress smiled brightly before turning to me. "Can you stand my pet?"
I tried to tame my breathing before I stood up once again. "I can Mistress." I told her.
"Good, your lesson here is done. Come with me now." My Mistress ordered and turned to walk out of the basement.
"Thank you sir." I bowed to Galen who nodded at me before I rushed off after my Mistress. I followed her through the hallways of the mansion that had slaves and servants running around doing who knows what, until she stopped in front of a familiar door.
"Have a bath and I will send Georgia to fetch you soon with clothing." My Mistress ordered.
"Thank you Mistress." I bowed to her and she smiled.
"Rest up my pet, I will see you soon." We parted with that and she left as I walked into the bathroom that had servants bathing and gossiping within.
Everyone went silent when I walked in and I immediately felt like an outcast since I could smell that everyone here was human. I went to a secluded corner and undressed as the women around me started whispering. I didn't bother telling them that I could hear them because I was just too tired to speak. I sunk into the water with a sigh closing my eyes to let the hot water soak into my sweaty skin and clean away any dirt and blood.
