TW: MENTIONS OF DRUG USAGE!!!

There I stood in front of the door of my house, exhausted from a long and tiring day at work. It was very late at night and it was freezing, a cold wind blowing in my face. A sudden shiver went down my spine as I heard a loud bang and something break, my mother's piercing scream ringing in my ears. I gulped and stepped back from the door. Then I remembered that she would get angrier if I get home any later, so I took a deep breath and entered the door and I saw my mother, her face and hands covered in scratches and blood, pieces of wood and a broken chair were on the floor, the couch was tipped over. She had cuts on her arms, as if she forcefully ripped out the syringes of heroïne. Her eyes were red and there was smoke hanging in the air, the smell of weed and many other substances were wafting in the air. Alcohol bottles left and right, beer spilled on the filthy red carpet, and shattered glass everywhere. I could see that she was already rampaging for a little while before I came home.

Before I could process what was happening she stomped towards me, and screamed at me: "Where have you been??!! I've been looking for you since this morning!!" She grabbed my collar and lifted me up, dragged me further into the house as she kicked the door shut. She threw me on the ground, I felt a sharp pain in my shoulders. She started screaming and got on top of me and starting slapping me in my face , punching and scratching me all over my body. I could barely see anything, my vision got hazy, still somehow I got a hold of a piece of glass and stabbed her side with it to shock her and to get her off of me. My vision was slowly decreasing, as my head started spinning. I saw blood coming from my hand, I cut open my hand from my grip on the shard. I heard my mother screaming in pain and cursing under her breath.

She got back up and she somehow got a hold of a brick. She started screaming and cursing again. I struggled to get back up. I knew I needed to move, to run and to get out of the door as fast as I could. My head was spinning so much that I had difficulty standing up and realizing my mother was slowly coming closer and closer with a brick in hand. My fight or flight instinct kicked in. I jumped over the couch and the broken chair. I tried my best to sprint through the hallway to the door that seemed even longer than normal. I looked back and saw my mother chasing me with a terrifying speed. I screamed "GET AWAY FROM ME !!!" But she didn't listen.
