On My Own (Eralin)

After a 7 hour flight, I arrived in San Francisco in the late morning, the place I always dreamed of, the place I couldn't reach. I never thought I would see the Golden Gate Bridge with my own eyes. I realized that I was in an unknown city, a city full of unknown people, streets and buildings. But I didn't care, even though my parents babied me and tried to do anything, I was forced to grow up quickly due to my jobs, not being backed up by people, doing everything on my own and acting mature is what I was used to. I stood at the busy airport, a big smile on behind my mask and ready to start my new life. After a little bit of walking around and stretching my legs, I exited the airport and called for a taxi, the driver got out and took my luggage.

"Where can I drop you off young miss?" He spoke with a sweet tone.
"Drop me off at the Brighton Company headquarters please." I said with a cold tone.
"Y-young miss...that's not just a place you can just enter...b-besides what are you going to do there...?" He stammered out with a shaky and worried voice.
"I think it's your job to drive people to their destination, not to ask them questions on what they're going to do. So do your damn job and get me there."  I said a little too aggressively, that was not my intention, but oh well.

The taxi driver cleared his throat and drove off. A little while later I arrived at the headquarters, paid the driver and gave him a tip. I took off  my mask and entered the fancy building and walked up to the receptionist. She gave me a confused look as to why a young girl wearing a black tracksuit and had pink hair was in the lobby of the insanely chique building.

"Uhm, young miss I'm not sure what you're doing here but you can't just enter this building"
She said in a stern tone.

"I'm not here without an actual cause, I want to speak to your boss, could you call him down here? I need him for something. Tell him Eralin Thorns is here."
I replied with a cocky tone.

"You're not Eralin Thorns little girl! Eralin Thorns has the face and appearance of an angel and would never have such an arrogant and disgusting demeanor!"

I rolled my eyes and scoffed. Suddenly the receptionist had an embarrassed look on her face, and quickly went back to doing her work, I felt a big presence behind me so I turned around and looked up. A tall handsome man with perfectly styled black hair, blue eyes, and a stubble stood behind me with an confused expression. I smiled and looked him in the eyes, he shot me a handsome smile back.

"Well well, if it isn't my little angel Eralin Thorns, the daughter of my best business partner."
He said with a sarcastic tone in his low voice.

I giggled in response and crossed my arms-
"It is I, the mighty Eralin Thorns, the girl that hold the power to even get Charles Brighton on his knees."
I replied with a condescending and sarcastic voice.

The man laughed and so did I, he pulled me into a hug and I immediately felt comforted. The reason why I went to this company was because the CEO of this company is my uncle, and because he reigns over the house markets in the whole USA.

"Hey, Denise if you ever dare to disrespect my niece ever again I will fire you and blacklist you from every big company in the state of California. Got it?"
Charles whispered in a scary yet calm voice.
