Chapter 23 - Rescue?

Cyrus POV

The rest of us hid while Rene came and greeted Wesley. "WESLEY!! ITS BEEN SOO LONG!!" Rene squealed as she hugged my brother.

"Ehh, yes. At least 379 days to be exact." Wesley awkwardly replied. "May I come in-"

"Of course!! Follow me!" Rene then grabbed Wesley by the arm and led him inside the house.

"Now's our chance." I whispered to Z4 and Cruise. They nodded as we snuck through the entrance.

"Any idea where Nick is keeping Y/N?" Cruise asked. "I dunno. But if I were to kidnap Y/N, I would keep her in the basement." I answered.

"Wait what-" "So we're going to the basement." I told the older male as we were nearing the door. Rene was too distracted with Wesley that she didn't notice us pass by.

"Where even is the basement in this place?" Z4 asked. I shrugged. "Im sure we'll know once we see it." I said.

Without worrying much about Rene, we searched the house for where the door to the basement was. In a house as big as this, it took us 5 minutes.

But finally, Z4 found a door that had stairs that led down. "This better be the right room." He muttered as we climbed down the stairs.

The voice of Rene and Wesley became more distant as we descended. When we reached the end of the stairs, I found a light switch and turned it on.

With the room being well-lit, I was able to see everything clearly. Then, I heard a crying sound.

"Y/N?!" I said out loud as I saw the blonde haired girl in the corner. Y/N looked up and saw me, Cruise, and Z4.

"Cyrus?! You're here?!" She asked in both surprise and excitement. "And Cruise and Z4, too?" I immediately ran to her and pulled her into a tight hug.

"Heck yeah Im here. Did you really think I'd let Nick keep you trapped in his basement?" I told her as she hugged me back.

"I thought you might not come for me-" "Pfft, why would I do that? You're my girlfriend." I chuckled. Y/N pulled away from the hug and wiped her tears.

"So you wouldn't ever leave me behind?" Y/N asked, still slightly crying. "Of course I'd never leave you." I comforted her. "I'd try to get you back even if it was the last thing I did."

"But Nick said you would regret it." Y/N whispered softly. I scoffed at what she said. "Im not afraid of Nick. He's just an idiot like everyone here except you."

"Idiot, eh?" I heard a voice behind us. Y/N whimpered and squeezed my hand. I look behind me and come face to face with my old rival.

"Brownie, you're here." He said. "To try and take my new pet, I assume." I growled at his words.

"Nick, long time no see." I replied. "Also, didn't I tell you to stop calling me that ridiculous nickname?"

Nick glared at me. "Step away from Y/N or else things could get bloody." He threatened. I roll my eyes, even if no one could see me do so.

"Cruise, Z4, try to free Y/N. I'll deal with the VR addict over here." I told Cruise and Z4 as Nick just got pissed at what I called him.

"I WILL F***ING END YOU AND Y/N WILL BE MINE!" He shouted as he charged at me and our fight to death begun.

Your POV

"Y/N, Im so glad you're ok." My brother said as he and Z4 tried to get rid of the chain at my feet. "I was worried sick."

"This stupid chain won't go off without a key." Z4 groaned while trying to force it open. "Who has the key to this?"

"Rene I think." I answered. "Where is she though and how'd you get pass her security?" "Wesley helped us." Cruise replied.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash. I saw Nick and Cyrus having a violent fight and Nick just tackled Cyrus.

"Hurry, we need to help him." I said as I tried to get the chain off of me. "If only we had the key."

"This key, perhaps?" Cruise, Z4, and I looked at the stairs and saw Wesley with a key in his hands.

"Wesley! Thank goodness you're here with the key!" I sighed in relief as Wesley handed it to Cruise and Cruise started unlocking the chain.

"How did you get it though?" Z4 questioned. "And where's Rene?" "Well, uhh-" Wesley stuttered.

Flashback in Wesley's POV

"Did I ever tell you how cute your glasses make you look? Or how you're hair is so freaking fluffy?" Rene said while messing with my hair.

"Im sure you told me that multiple times already." I told her. While she was talking, I noticed a silver thing on a necklace she was wearing.

I looked closely and saw that it was a key. 'Must be really important if Rene is wearing it around.' I thought. 'There must be a way I can get it somehow-'

'There's only one way: the method of speaking like an undignified lovestruck individual. I sighed as I was left with that option.

"Rene, um, did I ever tell you that, uhh, your eyes remind me of the peaceful evening sky?" I asked Rene, trying to sound normal.

"Oh, um, no, you haven't." Rene stammered as she blushed and looked away. I smiled and continued.

"And you're, um, hair makes you look as beautiful as a anodorhynchus hyacinthinus." I told her. "I don't know what that is but it sounds like something pretty." Rene giggled.

I moved closer to her face. "Your glasses also make me feel like Im looking at diamonds." I said. "Uh, Wesley-" Rene stuttered but still remained blushing and smiling.

Without hesitation, I kissed her. She was taken by surprise and froze. But before I could reach out for the key, Rene lost consciousness.

I quickly pulled away as Rene fainted. I didn't know what to do since I didn't expect this but I just grabbed the key and hesitantly left her on the floor.

End of flashback

"Uhh, lets just say Rene fainted out of too much excitement." Wesley said. "Finally, I got it." Cruise smiled as he finished unlocking the chain.

"Good, now lets get out of here." Z4 told us. "Wait, what about them?" I pointed to Nick and Cyrus, who were getting too intense in their fight.

"Cyrus can handle himself. Cmon, lets go." Z4 grabbed my arm and tried to drag me out of the basement. But I pulled my arm away.

"No, Im helping him."
