Zelda woke up crying. All she wanted was Link back, but those people tackled her to the ground, trapped Terrako in a cage, and gave her something that made her go unconscious.
Now she was strapped to a table in this too-bright room. Everything was white and smooth here. A vicious white flame overhead made her squint. Zelda was crying for what felt like hours in this cold room. A shiver flew up her body. The door opened, causing Zelda to jump. "No, no, no, no," she gasped, trying to squirm away from whoever came through, but it was useless.
"Oh, you poor thing," a deep voice sighed.
Rushed footsteps echoed in the empty room. Zelda felt the restraint on her left wrist loosen. She jerked her had out of it and began working on freeing her right hand. The man was faster than her, and ended up loosening all the restraints.
When she was free, Zelda ran for the door, twisting the handle, but it was locked. She turned, pressing her back into the wall upon seeing the man coming closer.
Like a frightened animal, Zelda inched away until she hit a corner. She called upon her power, creating a see-through golden wall between her and the man. The man stopped in his tracks, awestruck by the wall. He quickly snapped out of it.
"I just want to talk, love," he said. "I won't hurt you, I swear it."
"Then talk," Zelda commanded. She would not let this man come any closer. His green eyes hinted at something dangerous.
"Not like this," he pleaded. He pressed a hand on the wall.
Zelda stared at him. His ears were curved. His white hair and beard glistened like snow. He had strange clothes, unlike the people she saw wearing when she first got there - wherever there was. A black rectangle, shining in the wall's light, was pinned to his blue coat.
Zelda's stomach growled, suprising them both. She only had a few bites of Link's meal before he was swept away. New tears formed in her eyes thinking about him.
"You're hungry," the man sighed. "Would you like something to eat?"
Studying the man, Zelda thought about it for a minute. She didn't know if she could trust him completely, but didn't have many choices. She nodded. "Yes, please," she whispered.
"Would you drop the barrier, love?"
Zelda hesitated, but her grumbling stomach made up her mind. She let the wall drop. The man stepped closer, and she built the wall again.
"Sorry," the man said. "My name is Poe Jenkins. My friends just call me Poe. That's what you can call me, if you'll be my friend." He smiled sympathetically.
Zelda let herself relax. Poe Jenkins only wanted to help her. Maybe he's the one who saves the people from this place. She let the wall fade and slowly walked toward Mr. Poe.
His face lit up, all for his eyes that still held something dark. He held his hand out for Zelda, but she only glanced at it. She didn't trust him that much.
Letting his hand fall, Mr. Poe took a card connected to a lanyard from the inside of his shirt, holding it to a black square above the door handle. The lock clanked open and Mr. Poe opened the door, holding it for Zelda.
She walked through into more plane white halls with the white fire overhead. This place was strange- opening doors with cards and white fire in the ceiling.
"I can get you a change of clothes, love," Mr. Poe offered as he led Zelda down the hallway.
She looked down. She was still wearing her mud-stained dress, but she preferred it over those awful white coats Mr. Poe would give her. Her captors wore those. She didn't want to think about them, much less look like them. And what was with Mr. Poe calling her love? It got on her nerves.
