Chris? The name rang like a warning bell in Chan's head. Felix never called him that. It was always Chan or Channie. He opened his eyes, and the reality hit him like if we was waking up from a dream. They were in Seonghwa's room, in the Ateez apartment. Felix was not acting like himself and Chan should know better. This wasn't right. They had both been drinking. If he disliked Seonghwa for getting Felix drunk, he couldn't very well break it off between them, and then benefit from it himself. He wouldn't exploit sweet Felix like this. Chan cursed himself for being stupid and weak minded.
He took a deep breath to steady himself. "Felix. Stop! Don't do this." He grabbed for the younger's shoulders and tried to make him stand up. "Seriously, Felix. Stop it, right now!"
Chan was not prepared for Felix' reaction. The younger straightened up and looked at Chan with eyes blazing. He was clearly angry. To be honest, it was a bit scary to see him like this. He had never seen him this furious before. "This isn't right..." he weakly tried to explain, but Felix had lost his patience.
"Are you for real? You treat me like air for days, only to barge in here and trow Seonghwa out of his own room. And now you're telling me this isn't right?!" Felix pretty face was twisted in a sarcastic snarl. "So let me get this right, Chan. You don't want this to happen, but I'm still not supposed to even touch Seonghwa? Am I supposed to be in some ivory tower, then? You're a fucking bastard, Chan." A tear of anger escaped his eye. He started to move for the door, and Chan grabbed for his hand, but Felix didn't let it stop him. "Piss off!" he growled and like that, he was gone.
Chan's head couldn't keep up with events. Everything was happening so fast, and he felt so sluggish. By the time he had made the exit himself, he saw the bathroom door closing at the end of the hallway. He had fucked up. Again. The only thing he could do now was to leave, but first he had to talk to Changbin.
He found the dark rapper in the sofa talking to Wooyoung, as expected. When Changbin saw him he immediately knew something was wrong. "I'm leaving," Chan simply stated before he nodded for Changbin to follow him.
At the front door they could talk in semi-confidence. "It was a mistake to come here tonight. Please give my apology to the captain for leaving his ship without saying a proper goodby." Chan gave the younger a half smile, but his eyes were lifeless. "I'll make sure he gets your message," Changbin reassured. "Anything else?" Bang Chan hesitated. "Yes, I think I upset Felix and he's in the bathroom. Can you please make sure he dosen't do anything stupid after I have left?"
"Do something or someone," Chanbin blurted out, but he regretted the joke when Chan flinched like he had slapped him. He quickly added: "I'll make sure he dosn't do anything he will regret tomorrow. I'll stop drinking now and look after both him and Innie. Sounds good?" Chan suddenly drew Changbin into a hug. "Thank you, Binnie. You're a good friend." That was the last thing he said before he left.
