The day was over and everyone had left room. I nodded my head to the red folder that Five was holding for him to take it. He nodded back and slipped it under his shirt.
"Where should we take it?" I asked.
"Bathroom?"
"Not great but okay." I grimaced.
"No one will look for us there." He shrugged.
"Still grody." I huffed. We checked the bathroom to make sure we were alone and clicked the stall door closed behind us.
"Under different circumstances this could be pretty hot." He smirked as he pulled me to him.
"You have got to stop with that." I quietly laughed and freed myself from his grasp. He sat down on the toilet and opened the folder while I looked over his shoulder. Then we heard the familiar click of heels. "You have got to be kidding me," I murmured and crawled on the floor to the next stall over. Gross.
"Shit," Five cursed.
"So, how's your first day going?" the Handler asked as she took the stall on the other side of him.
"Couldn't be better," he responded then slowly tucked the folder back under his shirt. Though, he was actually having a good time with me here but he'd still much rather be home with me and the rest of his family.
"Glad to hear it." She coughed loudly. "I burned my ruggae. Ever burned your ruggae? The ridges of the hard plate that help pass food to the esophagus. Anyway, I'm on a liquid diet for two days, hence the marathon of urination. One faulty cog, and nothing works as it should."
And Ah thought that her calling out Herb wis awkward.
"You know, we value integrity at the office above all else. Trust is essential, and that trust is... built over time. But in the event of a breach, the Commission will act swiftly and without mercy."
Jobby.
"An efficiency I'm sure you and Cameron of all people can appreciate, Number Five." She left her stall. "I'm feeling peckish. Have you had dinner?"
"Not yet," he replied, playing along. We've come this far. There is no way we're blowing our cover.
"Great. How would you like to have dinner with me in my office? You can eat solid foods, and I can live vicariously... through you." She peaked over the stall at Five then at me. "You can come too if you'd like, Cameron dear." She sighed.
"Sounds great," Five said.
"Aye..."
"Oh how I've missed that cute little accent." She shook her head. "You really shouldn't try to cover it up so much." Then she finally walked away. Five and I waited for her to leave then peaked out the doors.
"That was so weird!" I cringed.
"Tell me about it." He grimaced in disgust. "Why do you try to cover it up?"
"Fur na yin kin ever ken whit A'm sayin' 'n Ah dinne lik' repeatin' masell ower 'n ower. It's juist mair easy this wey," I spout off. He looked at me with a confused expression. Five could understand a lot of it but he still struggled sometimes.
I raised my eyebrows. "Exactly."
"So, I've been thinking." He put his hands in his pockets.
"Uh, oh," I sarcastically commented.
"When you said that you could do everything, you didn't mean everything everything, did you?" I found it amusing that he'd clearly been dwelling on it since I arrived days ago.
