Griffin Stagg x Reader !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Griffin was always a quiet kid, I was quite the opposite, honestly. While he was eating lunch surrounded by books in the library, I was eating lunch surrounded by a huge group of people in the cafeteria. To say our statuses were different was an understatement, sometimes it even felt like we were worlds apart with our different crowds, or, well, lack of crowds. Either way, that didn't stop me from gaining feelings for him. It's not like a big secret, but I don't tell many people. I'm afraid that people will tell him, let alone tease him about it. That would be awful. I've heard through his friends that he may or may not have taken a liking to me as well but you just can't tell with those things.

Anyways, as I was walking through the halls towards my next class, I accidentally bumped into someone. I rushed to apologize, feeling super guilty. "I'm so sorry, oh my gosh, let me help you with that!"
I exclaimed worriedly, but when I knelt down to help them pick up the mess, I noticed who it was. It was none other than Billy Showalter. "Oh, hey Y/N!"
Billy exclaims happily, I shoot him a smile before helping him to collect his things. "Don't worry about this, accidents happen,"
Billy mumbles to me. Billy and I were friends, not super close but it wasn't like we were just acquaintances either. "So,"
Billy says, a grin forming on his face. "How's Griffin?"
He asks in a quiet voice, probably in hopes that nobody heard him. Did I mention that Billy was the only who knew about me liking Griffin? "Oh, uh,"

I stuttered, unable to admit that I still had yet to speak to him. "Don't tell me.."
He trails off, looking upset. "I know! I'm sorry, Billy! I just can't do it! It's like I can talk to everybody just fine, but then when it comes to him I can't muster up a single word!"
I complain, my face contorting into an expression of utter distaste. "You're the Y/N L/N! You can talk to anyone, either way, I've heard he likes you too,"
He says in a hushed tone. "I know, I've heard the same thing, but you never know with those things!"
I explain, not looking up to meet his gaze. "Look, Y/N, I have my next period with him, you want me to put in a good word?"
Billy asked hesitantly, I nodded slightly, I knew I could trust Billy with something like this. "Alright, anyways, you need to get to class,"
He comments, pointing in the direction of my next class. "Okay, thank you so much Billy!"
I grinned widely, giving him a big hug, he reciprocated the gesture and waved me off.

I saw Billy riding his bike home and I rushed up to him. "Billy! What'd he say?"
I asked him, smiling like mad. Billy looked at me with a smile, "Well, nothing really, I mean him asking if I thought you'd be interested in being friends with him is really nothing!"
He teased, I huffed out a breath I didn't know I was even holding. "Really? He really said that?"
I asked him, I really didn't think Griffin would want to be friends with someone like me. "Yeah, he did, and well, I may or may not have told him that I would ask you if you would hang out with him at the library today,"
Billy explained, laughing a little bit. "What?!"
I asked him, I just went from not talking to Griffin to hanging out outside of school with him! "It's your choice if you want to go or not, I told him if you don't show you're probably busy and to not wait up after 10 minutes,"
He explained, it did seem like a good chance to talk to Griffin, so I took it. "Okay, what time am I supposed to meet him?"
I asked, "5:20,"
Billy replied, I thanked him and smiled as I ran off to my house.

When I got to the library, I looked through the isles for Griffin, but he ended up scaring me by popping up right next to me. "Oh my gosh! You scared me!"
I whisper shouted, staying conscious of the fact that this was a library and that people would want to enjoy their books and whatnot. "Hi Y/N,"
He said in a shy voice, making me smile. "How are you doing today, Griffin?"
I asked him awkwardly, a smile still on my face. "I'm pretty good, how about you?"
He asked, smiling slightly. "I'm great now! Thanks for asking!"
I replied, patting him on the back in a tender way. "So, what kinds of books are you interested in?"
I asked, turning to make eye contact with him. "Erm, I like sci-fi, history, that kind of thing,"
He explains, I grinned knowing damn well I'm not interested in that kind of thing like, at all. "How about we ditch the library and go to the coffee shop down the street?"
I ask him in a nice voice, hoping not to offend him because of my unfamiliarity with libraries. "Sure,"
He replied, smiling slightly. I grab his hand and lead him out of the library, not looking back.

When we finally made it to the coffee shop, it was empty and the lights were off. "Whoops, I guess I didn't really think about the fact that they probably wouldn't be open,"
I said, an embarrassed look on my face. He huffed out a laugh. "It's okay, I know a place right down the street if you'd like to go there instead,"
He explained, as if on cue, rain began to come down in large drops. "Yeah, that would be nice,"
I laughed, he grabbed my arm, a childish smile on his face, and we ran together to wherever he wanted to go. It was an exhilarating feeling, honestly. We were both smiling like goofs as we ran around the wet street together.

Griffin was taking us to a little awning apparently, because before I knew it, we were standing under an awning with our hair and clothes soaked but beaming smiles still on our faces. "An awning? Really?"
I grinned, looking at him with a skeptical look. "Yep!"
He replied proudly. There's a wave of awkward silence before I speak up. "I really enjoyed this,"
I admitted, looking down at the ground that was now soaking wet. "Me too,"
Griffin said, looking anywhere but me. "Look, Griffin, I've liked you for a long time now, and it's completely okay if you don't feel the same but I wanted to tell you,"
I explained, turning to look at him. He didn't reply for what felt like eternity. "I like you too,"
He finally said, making me let out a breath full of relief. "Really?"
I asked him, "Really."
He replied with confidence. I pounced on him, hugging him tightly as rain fell right beside us.
