Finney Blake x Reader !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Weeks went by before any issues arose, but all of a sudden, I got this really serious text from Bruce. "Hey, can we talk?"
It read, I replied with a simple thumbs up. "Okay, meet me behind the bleachers at 4:30"
He texted back. I closed my phone and awaited the meeting. I hadn't spoken to Bruce properly since the baseball game all those weeks ago, so I was kind of surprised he had texted me. I mean, he couldn't even be bothered to meet Finney and I in the diner that night.School went by quite slowly as I awaited my meeting with Bruce. I had quite a few tests, too. So when it was finally time to meet up with Bruce by the baseball field, I was just about fed up with the day.
Bruce met me with tears in his eyes. "Y/N, she broke up with me!"
He wailed, pulling me in for a hug. "Oh, Bruce,"
I frowned, opening my arms for a hug. He ran up to me without hesitation, wrapping his arms around me in a tight hug, I hugged him back, but with not nearly as much force. "I thought she was the one,"
Bruce whimpered, burying his face in my neck. I hushed him as he hiccuped into my neck, his tears soaking into my shirt, making it damp. "It's going to be okay, Bruce."
I comforted, he continued to cry, hugging me tighter. I slowly lowered myself onto the ground, Bruce following without hesitation.Once Bruce finally calmed down, his eyes were bloodshot with his dried tears on his cheeks. "It was you,"
Bruce mumbled. I hummed in confusion. "It was always you."
Bruce said, looking up at me hopefully. "I always loved you!"
He admitted, "I dated Amy because she was available, because I thought I didn't have a chance with you."
Bruce said, "But now, I'm not afraid."
Bruce stated, puckering his lips as he neared my face. I quickly shoved him off of me. "Bruce, you're confused."
I said, "No, no Y/N, in fact, I've never been more sure in my life."
Bruce emphasized, leaning in further, continuing to get closer to me. "Bruce, no."
I pushed him off of me. "But, don't you like me back?"
He asked, hopefully. "Bruce, I did like you! But you lost your chance! I'm sorry, I'm with Finney now."
I explained, looking away. "But Y/N-"
Bruce cried, "Bruce, no, I'm sorry, I'm going home."
I said, turning on my heel and walking home. The next few days were awkward, to say the least. Bruce didn't speak to me unless completely necessary, and I wasn't sure what to do. I love Bruce, sure, but not the way I love Finney. I love Bruce as my best friend, like a brother. As time went on, Bruce began to open back up and Finney and I continued our relations, all was well again and I finally found the boy of my dreams.
