She was sitting on the bleachers when Emilio came and sat next to her. She looked over at him confused she didn't get why he was sitting next to her she was sure she had made it clear that she didn't want him messing with her. "What do you want?"

"Thanks for protecting my cousin." He knew his cousin didn't like asking for help and prefered to do it her own way.

Valentina shrugged when it came to family, she was always going to protect them no matter what the cost was. "She's family now. And I protect family. Bianca got on my bad side the day I entered this school. I don't get the obsession she has with my brother, but i knew she would try to take it out on Sofia. And I refused to let my  niece or future sister-in-law get hurt."

"Bianca is a special case." Emilo knew that Bianca wanted things that she couldn't have and that was because of her past.

"I can see that." Since she had been there, Bianca had caused quite a bit of trouble.

"She's not doing it for her." Emilio admitted he knew why she was doing it. It was for her mom because of her history with the Romano family.

Now Valentina was intrigued and she wanted details. If he knew why Bianca was doing it then it was going to be very helpful for her. "You know why she acts that way."

"Of course I do i make it my business to know everything. I meant it when I said if you ever needed my help, to ask." And he knew she was eventually going to have to ask for that help.

Valentina scoffed; she was never going to need help from him. She had six brothers who were more than capable of handling some illegal favors for her. "My brothers are more than capable of helping me."

"We'll see."

Valentina shot him a glare, not liking that he knew something she didn't. "What do you know?"

"Something you're not ready to learn." Emilio couldn't tell her just yet, there was a lot to it, and she wasn't going to be able to process this right now.

"Oh, really. Why are all of you such assholes about your information? You know secrets suck." She was sure her brothers had learned that the hard way a long time ago.

"This one is for your sanity, trust me on that one. It protects your mom." And Elena had been through a lot and he was sure that Valentina didn't want to do anything else.

Valentina scoffed Alyssa would never be her mom, and if it was protecting her, she didn't care to do that. "Who Alyssa is, not my mom?"

"Elena, she told you her past, she left out who hurt her, didn't she?" Emilio was sure that Valentina had learned the truth from her stepmom. But there was a lot more to it.

"Yeah."

"What if I tell you it has something to do with that?" He knew that would catch her attention.  "So are you really eager to bring up what caused her to lose her first daughter?"

Valentina sighed she didn't want to do anything if it meant that she was going to hurt Elena. "No."

"I didn't think so."

"Fine." Valentina groaned; she guessed that she could wait a little longer.

"See, was it that hard?" Emiio asked. He could see that she was stubborn. But it was cute that she was trying to protect her family.

"I don't like you."

"You will." He was going to make sure of it.

They had all just gotten home Valentina had waited in her car waiting on her brother to pull up with Sofia. They got out the car heading to the door. "So you're skipping class again."

"It was one class." Valentina groaned. And it wasn't like she had been doing anything during that time.

"Tell that to dad." Adriano knew they were not about to be happy about. "We'll bring the stuff in later." Adriano opened the door, letting Sofia and Val walk into the house first. "We're home."

"Val."

She walked into the dining room, seeing them cooking. "Right here."

Her parents turned to face her. They had gotten a call saying that she was not in her class. "You skipped your class."

Valentina scoffed she couldn't believe she was getting in trouble for skipping class. "It was self-defense, and Adriano's supposed to be training me here anyway."

"She does make a good point." Adriano knew since he was training her here, it was a great idea.

"So what were you doing?" Valentino asked. He knew that she was apparently doing something.

"Nothing." Valentina lied. She definitely didn't want to tell them what she had just learned.

"I don't buy that for a second." Elena knew better she had been her age she knew what it was like.

"That seems like a you issue. You know I should make sure I have all my chargers since I'm bout to change houses for the next two days." She had to go to her other brother's house, so she really needed to get ready. She turned and walked away, leaving them.

"Val "

"Nope."

"Is she always like that?" Sofia asked. She hadn't been here long enough to know what was going on.

Adriano  nodded, he knew that his sister usually got whatever she wanted.  "Yeah, she usually gets her way."
