A/N: I don't own Smallville or any characters and places in the DC universe. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contained.

I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is simply to get a creative outlet going.

I only own Tyla Nevin and what pertains to her character story.

The manor was empty tonight. It was just him and the staff from all aspects of his life. Tyla had decided to visit the Kent farm to deliver her Christmas presents and simply catch up. Even if he told her that it wasn't advisable, she probably would have still gone. The Kents were his competition. If Tyla went, how would it look that this fiancé was spending time with the farmboy? His father was already helping Jonathan run against him. Although she would never talk politics and the Kents fought fairly, he was still nervous.

He hired a few more assistants for the campaign and hired a new personal assistant now that Tyla was his business partner. As much as she would protest that it wasn't a bother, he didn't want to pile all the responsibilities on her.

"Mr. Luthor, this is the itinerary for tomorrow," his campaign manager said as he brought his attention from his laptop. There was a news article of Tyla, Martha, and Clark having lunch at the Talon. The picture had Tyla showing the ring to the redheaded woman. He picked up the paper and looked over the packed appointments.

He let out a slightly frustrated sigh. "Push the mayor's lunch and get me a photo-op at the hospital," he ordered. He had to tell Tyla that she would need to come to the mayor's lunch with him to help with image.

"Yes sir."

"The nurses union is key in the 49th," Lex continued. "One more thing, I need the new poll numbers from last night."

"Yes sir"

Lex glanced over at the pile of folders to his right. It had Tyla's writing on a memo with a LuthorCorp logo. He reached for one and open it. The folder contained a project proposal that she had looked through. He glanced through the cover page, immediately seeing the appeal. He flipped through the projections and began to sign off on the project before speaking to his personal assistant. "Have you booked the appointment with the wedding planner?"

"Yes, you will be seeing Mrs. Sloan with Tyla on Wednesday afternoon. She has all the details already."

"Make sure we're both booked off for the rest of that day. I want that to be the last thing that we do." The last comment was also directed to his campaign manager. He wanted that day to be focused on her and her only. If he was to win this position in the senate, she would have to take over LuthorCorp for the foreseeable future. To spend time with her required the both of them to allot time into their schedule. She was easily able to schedule it for them before but with the wedding preoccupying the former blonde, it left little room.

The doors opened and a member of his security detail walked in with a group. "Central Kansas students for you, sir." He said.

Lex looked up from reading the second proposal to see a group of kids no older than Clark or Ana walk towards his desk. With an amused look on his face, he leaned back and laced his fingers together. He glanced up at his campaign manager, seeing if there was space to entertain them. He didn't remember this on the itinerary.

The manager looked at his watch. "You have...five minutes, tops."

"Okay, honey, just drive safely and keep me updated on Jonathan," Lex spoke to Tyla through the phone. He had tried to visit at the hospital but Clark had turned him away. It was the reason why she was calling him and telling him that she was going to be late.
