A/N: I don't own Smallville or any characters and places in the DC universe. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contained.
I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is simply to get a creative outlet going.
I only own Tyla Nevin and what pertains to her character story.

"SURPRISE!!!"
Clark almost reeled back when the lights turned on. As his eyes adjusted to the light, the group jumped up in the air. His mother laughed. Both Chloe and Lois yelled "happy birthday, Clark!" Tyla threw a bunch of confetti in the air while Ana blew a loud horn near him. All he could do was stammer.
"Happy birthday, sweetheart," Martha said, coming over to kiss him on the cheek. "Thank god you didn't leave. We got you, didn't we?"
He chuckled. "Sure did."
"Look. And Lois even made her world-famous rum cake for you," Chloe said, excitedly as she darted into the kitchen to come out with a slightly deflated blue cake. In red were the words, "happy birthday Clark" and it was surrounded by yellow candles.
"Wow, I never would have guessed," he said before Ana huffed.
"You should have seen the first two, Casanova," the brunette teased, causing all the women and Clark to look at her. "What? We're just going to bypass the fact that no guys are here. Where's Lex?"
Immediately, Clark looked over to Tyla who lowered her head in shame. He was unsure as to whether Lex was keeping his distance, or he just wasn't invited to the surprise get-together. It could very well be that Tyla just didn't mention it to him. "Ah...let's open presents before the cake, yeah?" Tyla chirped, happily to change the subject. She clapped her hands before moving to the side, showing a completely set table with gifts.
"Come on, birthday boy. Sit down," Lois said, leading Clark by the arm and making him plop down on the chair. Clark made a face before he saw a red-wrapped gift being placed in front of him. "Open it!"
He ripped off the package, revealing a red-leather bound book. "Wow."
"Not that you're the "dear diary" type but since you keep everything to yourself, I...I thought it might help," Lois added.
He gave her a smile before Chloe interjected. "And since I'm on an intern budget, I figured I could just comp you a couple of those IOUs that you owe me."
Laughter filled the air before he opened another gift. It was a black folder with a sticky that said his name. He opened it to see a drawing of a black suit, it was clad with dark grey and blue undertones. It looked classy.
"It's not much but...I figured this picture would hold you over until I create it at Gucci. You're gonna need a nice suit for your job functions," Ana looked down at the drawing, nervously. She wasn't sure if it would be received well. It looked different, not like most suits. It was professional with an air of mystery. It would allow him to still stay in the background as he usually did but he wouldn't be a slump because of it.
"It's perfect, Ana. Thank you," he wrapped his arm around the young woman's shoulders as she leaned over to hug him
Tyla came over with a couple of boxes from the other end of the table. "I come bearing my mom's famous sugar cookies," she said as she placed the box next to him. "And this," she handed him the dark blue bag, labelled CK.
Clark grinned and took the tissue paper out to pull out a placard. It had a map of the MetroDome, now called LuthorDome with a signed picture of Steve Lombard making his famous pass. In black sharpie writing it wrote, "You're more than your mortal coil, Clark." With his signature. It was his famous phrase that he often said during interviews.
