A/N: I don't own Smallville or any characters and places in the DC universe. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contained.

I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is simply to get a creative outlet going.

I only own Tyla Nevin and what pertains to her character story.

A pamphlet fell onto the round glass table in the conservatory in front of Tyla. She looked up from writing her letter and took out an earpiece. The rock music blasted from the little headphone. She held back a laugh as Lex looked at her with a triumphant look on his face then she looked down at the yellow paper. In red capital lettering, the word Honduras stood out. "I thought we were still deciding between New Orleans or Belize for our honeymoon," she said, unfolding the paper to see that it was a map. "Though I'm loving the enthusiasm."

"And we can't extend our time because...?" He slid down to the seat across from her. He was used to seeing her writing letters for her sister although often, it had turned to emails since Lex gave Ana a brand-new laptop for Christmas.

Tyla chuckled. "What's going on, Lex?" She asked. "You're looking a little too smug about this." The last sentence was teasing.

"My father taught me never to reveal my hand but if it wasn't for you, I don't think I would be going as far as I was," he leaned back and put his hands in his pocket.

"So cryptic," she mumbled and shook her head. But she at least knew it wasn't about the wedding. "Have you found the ship?"

Lex opened his mouth but then closed it, feeling defeated. As fun as this little guessing game was, he didn't want to bear bad news. "No," he said. "But I have managed to track down Milton Fine."

It was then that Tyla put the pamphlet down. She leaned over with a curious look on her face. "You've been looking for him this entire time?"

"He was seen several times around the warehouse with the spacecraft and he happened to disappear from Smallville the same exact day that it had vanished." Lex said. "When you had that blast of a headache at the same timestamp that the ship evaporated from the cameras, that told me that all of this is not a coincidence."

"Hence," she tapped the paper. "The idea of a vacation. You think he's in Central America."

"He was last seen in Honduras," he said. "The jet is prepped to leave in an hour."

Tyla frowned at the thought. There was a chance that he could be a danger to her. The ship may have left because of him but she couldn't let Lex go there by himself. "Lex, I'm going with you." She finally said.

"Absolutely not, I have no idea what I'm walking into."

She got up. "That's exactly why I should be going!" She protested.

"I promise," Lex said, getting up with her. He grabbed her hands and pressed them to his chest. "I'll tell you everything when I get back. Honey, please."

"Do you know what will ensure that? Me coming with?" She didn't wait as Lex sighed. "Think about it. If Fine was covering his tracks, there had to be a reason. We have to do it as well. We can add to the flight logs that we are going to National City afterwards. And until I give them away, I have these nifty powers. I think we're both safer together than apart, no?"

Lex pressed his lips together. It was this logic that pulled him to her. She always had his back even if he wanted to protect her. He lifted her hands and kissed them. "It leaves in an hour," he reminded her, letting her go as he picked up the map. She walked off, all but skipping out with the music still blaring. He turned around and picked up the pen that rested on the table. He unfolded the paper, revealing the map again to circle a small area to where the man was last spotted. He was going to find Milton at whatever cost. He needed answers and that was just what Fine was good for.
