Chapter 27 - Shit
*****

"Okay so we have an address of a warehouse?" Thomas asked as he looked up from the envelope.

"And a cut out from the article that announced mum's death." Fortune added as she chucked it down on the bunk between her and Julien.

"I can only imagine there was other stuff in it but your dad took that out?" Thomas suggested as he poured them all a drink and handed them out.

"Name?" Julien attempted to cough out as he held up the article.

Fortune shrugged. "So what? My names been highlighted."

Thomas shook his head quickly. "Yeah I don't like that sweetheart."

Julien and Fred both shook their heads in agreements, they didn't like it either.

"Oh come on, it's hardly like it actually means anything."

A knock at their door was heard as they all jumped slightly. Julien quickly shoved the article and letter under his pillow.

Fred went and opened it as her father walked in, he rolled his eyes and tutted, seeing his daughter sat on Julien's bed.

"Why am I not surprised you're in here?" He laughed to himself.

"I'm making sure he's okay." She explained as she reached her hand out to Julien.

He nodded as he came up to her, leaning down to give her a kiss on the head.

"Okay well you should all get some sleep now anyway." He spoke calmly as he looked around at the Barnes brothers.

"Busy day tomorrow!" He said happily, clapping his hands together.

The four stared up at him blankly.

"Well this circus isn't going to rebuild itself is it?"

Small smiles came to their faces as they shook their heads.

"You know what they say, the family that works together stays together."

He gave them all one last smile as he bid each one Goodnight, knowing it was pointless trying to get Fortune to sleep apart from Julien that night.

"Come on then sweetheart, bedtime." Thomas said as he clapped his own hands together.

"But what about Ace?"
