Day four
Y/n POV:
After we ate at the bar, the band who was supposed to be playing that night arrived and Eddie was taken into a back room by Robert and his brother-in-law to meet them. I took my opportunity to head back to the van and change what I was wearing.
I wasn't too happy with the idea of keeping on my purple shirt and jeans that had embroidered flowers on the side of them. It didn't match the situation very well. So, instead, I'd asked for the keys from him before he went off into the back, and I switched the outfit. I put on a black leather skirt and stole a Judas Priest T-shirt from amongst Eddie's things.
Then I pulled out my mirror and rested it on the side. This was going to be a real gig, and I wanted to make that effort to show support for my boyfriend, so I decided to intensify how I did my makeup a little. Usually I went with a natural look, if I wore any at all, but I decided to go for something slightly different. Most of my face makeup was still subtle, but I put on a lot more eyeliner than usual, and darker eyeshadow.
Looking back at myself in the mirror as I used my fingers to fix my hair, I felt like an entirely different person. And I loved it. I added a few necklaces, some earrings and a couple of rings, satisfied with the changes I'd made. As I zipped up my boots which I was yet to wear on this trip, I smiled to myself.
With that, I got back out of the van and walked back over to the bar. By this point it was around six thirty, and there were already a lot more people inside that earlier. As I swung open the door and started to head towards the bar, Robert walked around the corner and his eyes widened as he chuckled.
"Woah! Who are you?" He joked, clearly finding it amusing that I was dressed like an entirely different person than thirty minutes ago.
"I can shapeshift when necessary," I mimicked a curtsy as I got closer to him and leaned against the bar. A girl came over to serve me and I asked for a beer.
"Are you old enough for that?" Robert quirked an eyebrow at me and I shrugged, flashing him a smile as the girl pushed the bottle towards me. I took a sip.
"You did say all the free drinks we could imagine," I pointed out.
"You're lucky I'm in such a good mood today," he shook his head at me. I went to get on one of the barstools, but he stopped me. "I was actually just coming to get you because the band wants you in the back," he revealed.
"Oh..." I muttered, glancing over to the door that Eddie had disappeared down earlier on.
"Just go through and go to the end of the hall. It's the door that doesn't say 'kitchen' or 'fire exit on it'."
I chuckled and nodded, making my way over to the door and heading down the short hallway to the very end. The final door was slightly ajar, and through the tiny gap I could hear indiscernible talking, so I gently knocked on it and called out Eddie's name. He told me to come in but the talking continued.
When I pushed the door open, Eddie was facing away from me, speaking to one of the guys from the band. There were four of them, all probably in their early twenties with a very similar style to their outfits as Eddie. I found it surprising that a small town in an area like this would like this sort of music, but perhaps it was the very fact that it stuck a finger up to the face of conformity in a very strict area that drew people from lots of different places to come and watch them.
All four of the guys' eyes were straight on me as I stepped in, and they were teetering on the edge of gawking. They all instantly stopped speaking and looked at me.
"Well shit..." a guy with long blonde hair and a leather jacket over a black T-shirt muttered. He had been the one Eddie was talking to, and his sudden lack of interest in the conversation made Eddie turn around to look at me.
