Chapter 10 - Mother...
*****

"So hang on, you gave Ace shit for never having the parents on his side but you somehow ain't accepting it when you got this Regina knocked up?" Fortune laughed out as she leant back against the wall.

The pair were sat on her bed, leaning back against the wall, beers in hand and Ronnie lay fidgeting between then.

He sighed and nodded. "Apparently I'm only allowed him twice a week, that's only during the day though. Can't have him overnight, had to get a job which ain't massively fun owing to the fact she gets pretty much all my money for him."

He sighed again as he took a large swig of his drink.

"Don't have a kid sweetheart, it ain't as fun as the making them."

Fortune laughed and nodded. "Understood."

The pair sat in a comfortable silence as they continued to drink and play about with Ronnie.

"Has he actually broken up with her yet?" Fortune asked as she stood on the outskirts of the circus area and town, with Eyeball as he held Ronnie against him.

Eyeball stayed silent.

Fortune sighed and nodded. "Thought not."

Eyeball gave her a weak smile. "He does want to though, it was hella hard for him when you left."

Fortune scoffed and looked down, shaking her head slightly.

"I'm serious sweetheart." Eyeball spoke in a serious tone as she looked up at him.

"It really fucked him up. He didn't come out with us for like months, apparently leaving me unsupervised to get a girl up the duff." He forced a laugh.

"Even when we did see him, all he did was drink and then start talking about you. He watched every one of your shows on tv too, even made the bar show it when he went there. Didn't wanna play a game while you were on the tv."

Fortune gave him a small hopeful smile. "Really?"

Eyeball nodded as he gently bounced Ronnie. "What do I gain from lying? Family don't keep secrets remember?"

Her smile grew slightly.

"I mean it though sweetheart, this bullshit with Betsy only restarted like two ish months ago. Not to mention he hasn't taken the chain-" Eyeball stopped as he noticed Fortune's bare neck.
