**Your Pov**

Back in the upside down, things had taken a turn for the worst. You didn't think you'd make it. Vecna was too strong...

You used all of your strength against him, and got drained so much so you blacked out. The rest was kinda a blur.

At some point you'd succumbed to the darkness leaving your mind blank and under his control. You woke up to Eddie giving you mouth to mouth. All that you could say was his name before he passed out next to you.

Y/n: Eds? Eddie, wake up please.

Hopper: let's get the two of you to a hospital

Y/n: who are you?

Joyce: I'm Joyce, Johnathan and Wills mom, and this is Hopper, Jane, er El's adopted father.

Nancy: what are we supposed to tell the hospital when we get there?

Hopper: we don't have to tell them anything, I have connections with the government that'll give us the right to get health care without any explanation

Johnathan: let's go

You were helped into a car with Eddie laid on top of you and rushed to the hospital.

Y/n: c'mon Ed's, you can't leave me alone
You played with his hair gently.

Nancy: he's going to be fine y/n, relax.

Y/n: I know, I know he will.

You got to the hospital and they took Eddie away from you. Hopper took care of the whole "why you were hurt thing" and a nurse took you to the back to stitch up some wounds and give you some pain meds. Honestly you werent in too bad of shape, all things considered. Your mind was mostly on Eddie, everyone assured you he'd be ok, but your mind couldn't help but wander...

Thankfully the nurse finished up and at last you could go see Eddie.

You walked in to see him on his hospital bed, bandaged, hooked up to oxygen and an IV, now you knew how he felt.

Those trips to the hospital, when he didn't know what would happen, if you were going to be ok, if you'd make it...

Y/n: Eds, can you hear me?
You walked over to him and pushed stray hair out of his face and cupped his cheek.

No response

Tears weld up in your eyes

Y/n: it's all my fault, I'm so sorry

You knelt down next to his bed and held his hand. You squeezed it tightly, without hurting him.

Nurse: am I interupting?

You quickly stood up and wiped your face with your sleeve, trying to contain your emotions.

Y/n: no not at all, come in.

Nurse: he's going to be fine you know?

Y/n: he is?

Nurse: yes, well he'll have to be on oxygen for a little while, and definitely be on bed rest, and he'll be on heavy duty pain meds but after a long recovery he'll be back to normal..

Y/n: that's great news

You wipes the tears of your face and sighed in relief

Nurse: I just need to check his vitals and I'll be out of your hair.

Y/n: please take your time...

Nurse: he's very lucky to have you...

Y/n: hm?

Nurse: well I know if I was in his state I wouldn't have someone waiting for me to wake up, so I consider him lucky.

Y/n: heh, well he's done the same for me multiple times. It's my turn to take care of him.

Nurse: can't stay out of trouble?

Y/n: something like that..

Nurse: ok, everything looks good, all things considered... have a great rest of your night. And when he wakes up just ring the buzzer and a nurse will come in to assist you.

Y/n: ok thank you

Hours past, you kept yourself distracted.

-playing with his promise ring, and then switching to the locket he gave you.

-braiding Eddie's hair

-doodling on a sketch pad

-doodling on your arm, making a pretty sick tattoo that you'll probably get inked at some point

-telling Eddie what you wanted, your future together, even though he couldn't hear you...

The clock read 6:00am....

You looked at Eddie peacefully sleeping, you hated that he had to be hooked up to so many machines, all you wanted to do was to snuggle him, and for him too tell you he was ok.

You took his hand again and rubbed it softly.

Y/n: c'mon Eds can you hear me?

You hung your head in defeat, he clearly wasnt waking up anytime soon.

About two hours later there was a sudden gentle knock on the door making you jump.

Robin: hey, y/n. Can we come in

You quietly nodded as you watched literally everyone walk through the door.

Steve, Robin, Nancy, Johnathan, Will, Mike, Lucas, Max, Dustin, El, Joyce and even Hopper.

Everyone crammed into one room making you a bit claustrophobic. They all kept you company for about an hour before having to leave for different reasons. Robin and Steve were able to stay behind and bring you lunch, which was much appreciated. You didn't want to leave Eddie's side. He never left yours...

You were sitting next to Eds while reading a magazine that Steve brought you. You held his hand and rubbed it with your thumb, and you started to feel it being pulled away.

You looked up to see a very confused Eddie.

Eddie:y/n?
He smiled, his big ol goofy smile. It's been so long since you'd seen him smile like that.

Y/n: Eds your awake!

You couldn't help yourself you jumped up and kiss him holding his cheeks in your hands.

Eddie: I missed you too darling

You laughed not breaking any eye contact, before your mind snapped back to reality

Y/n: shit I gotta call the nurse

Eddie: I did some job huh? Well Vecna did a job, shit wait we won right. Honestly that whole thing is kinda a blurry mess

Y/n:  Yes we won. Now our lives can go back to being some form of normal

Eddie: there's no fun in that, let's be the craziest teenage dirtbags we can before it's too late. Besides, when were we ever normal?

Y/n:. True... But seriously I gotta call the nurse

Eddie: don't think this conversation is over, from now until graduation, we will live our lives to the fullest

Y/n: let's focus on getting you out of the hospital first

Eddie: hey that's my line

Y/n: the tables have turned Eds, now I'll be taking care of you for a while. Scared?

He smiled and a laughed a bit

Eddie: with you? Terrified
