School was now out for the summer in Woodcrest. Adam and his friends had just completed their sophomore year in high school. Adam and Jed had both turned sixteen, and Melissa's birthday was next month. Jedidiah had been enjoying taking them all places for a while, even though he still only had his permit, and had a few more months before he could get his full license, that didn't stop them from taking their fair share of joy rides at night.
However, tonight they had decided to just hang out at Adam's for the day. Despite it being hot and humid out that evening, they stayed out in the treehouse, as they could talk about whatever they wanted up there and Adam's little brother Stephen wouldn't bother them.
"Ughhh..." Cathy groaned, laying upside down in her bean bag chair, "Why the heck is it so humid todayyyy..."
"I know right," Mel said, "I'm still sweating bullets and the sun is almost down.
Adam had managed to get his dad to run some electricity to his treehouse, so they still had light up there despite it being dark out.
Adam took a sip from the soda can next to him, "I dunno, but this soda is already getting warm."
"It's not bothering me too much," Daisy said, "Better than being cold."
"I'm just bored," Jed told them, "Is there anything we can do to get our minds off the heat?"
"I have a deck of cards up here," Adam said, "We could play a game with those."
"Go fish?" Daisy asked.
"Nah," Cathy said, rolling over onto her stomach, "I wanna play three to thirteen."
"How about we play BS?" Melissa said, "That game is always fun."
"Fine with me," Jed said.
"But..." Mel added, "Let's make it a little more... Interesting..."
"How?" Adam asked.
"Welllll," Melissa said, "It is kinda hot out tonight... So... Why don't we play the strip version? Every time you're caught lying, you take something off."
"O-oh..." Adam said, "I mean, I guess I'll try it."
"I'm down, we're all friends here," Cathy said, "Hope you guys are ready to get cooled off."
"Hehe, don't see a reason why not," Daisy said, blushing a little bit.
"Let's do it," Jed added.
"Alright then," Melissa said, "Adam, throw me the deck."
She opened the box, dumping the cards into her hand and began to shuffle them. She dealt them all out.
"Jed goes first," she said, indicating a clockwise motion with her finger, "Then Cathy, Daisy, Adam, and me."
Jed looked at his cards and placed one face down in the middle of them.
"One ace," he said.
No one called him out on it, so it was Cathy's turn, "One two," she said, placing the card face down on Jed's.
Once again, nothing was called, so it was on to Daisy.
"Two threes," she said, and immediately Jed spoke up.
"BS," he said.
Daisy flipped her cards over and sure enough, there were two threes there.
"Darn it," he said, taking the small pile from the middle. Now it was Adam's turn.
"One ace," he said.
It was Mel's turn and no one called her out in hers. They made it through the first round all fully clothed. No one said anything through the second round... That is until it was Adam's turn again.
