Some time after late morning, I heard the sounds of car engines outside the Rodriquez Mansion. I stood up and made my way over to the bedroom window only to see Vince and his family had returned. Looking around the room which had become my prison over these last few months, my hope and spirit lifted little by little. Hopefully, we can all get over this little rift that formed between us.
I never intended to hide where Bianca’s mother was hiding. I just didn’t want anything to happen to my younger brother. Joyce threatened to end my brother’s life if I opened my mouth. But seeing how everybody came back in one piece with Bianca and Angel’s missing son Aries, my best guess is the vile woman met with a bad ending.
A lite scrapping sound came from the other side of the door. Finally, Vince pushed it open, entering my room. He stared at me intensely before opening his mouth and telling me I was finally free to leave. I knew if I wanted a chance at having a life with him, then I needed to grow a pair and finally ask the very question that’s been weighing on my mind since the day they all left.
I cleared my throat and called out softly, “Vince, can I ask you something?”
He stood there in front of me with arms crossed eyes squinted, waiting for me to ask my question. “Anytime now Destiny, I don’t have all day.”
“With everything finally finished with Bianca’s mother and their son back home. Do you think we can stay together?”
“Do you want my honest answer, Destiny? I don’t really know where I stand with you anymore. Bianca may have forgiven you, but this is something I can never forgive or forget about. If you hadn’t kept the fact Bianca’s mother was still alive and that you knew her from us. We could have been better prepared and taken the right precautions for my nephews.”
“Vince, I can’t tell you how sorry I am. I never met to keep something like this away from all of you. But her mom threatened my little brother. I was scared okay.”
“You expect me to believe that Destiny? Our family is the most feared mafia group in this country. It’s not like we couldn’t protect your brother. Bianca is Angel’s whole world, you know that. She’s been my sister since I first met her. If she doesn’t trust you, then there’s no way for us to even try.”
People may think I’m nuts for leaving it up to how my sister-in-law feels about this woman before making my decision. But the consistent fighting between them would be too much to handle. Plus, I value my life way too much to let my brother’s wife skin me alive. With that said I walked over to Destiny, grabbing her by the arm and led her downstairs to Angel’s office.
When I pushed the door open, I saw that my brother sat at his desk with his head bent typing away at his computer. He lifted his head and peered at me “what is it, Vince?”
“Angel what do you want done with Destiny? She told me the reason she didn’t tell us anything was because Bianca’s mother had her brother and was threatening him.”
“Man come on. Vince, you know me and what I prefer to do to her. I’d rather just shoot the bitch and be done with. Destiny had a choice she could have come to us when the threats first started. Even when she learned about the kidnapping and Bianca’s mother was with her the whole time. But she chose not to do it. In my opinion she can’t be trusted.”
Whilst we were deep in conversation Bianca crowed from behind us “throw her ass out my damn house.”
“Bianca I’m your best friend. How can you say that about me?” Destiny whined with her head lowered and lips quavering.
My sister-in-law threw the book she held in her hand, hitting Destiny in the face. She rose out of her seat storming up to her ex best friend and grabbed her by the hair.“What friend? We ceased being friends the minute my son was kidnapped by your stepmother, and you decided to keep your mouth shut.”
Bianca drug destiny by her hair kicking and screaming to the door. “You made your bed now lay in it. Don’t ever darken my doorstep again.”
“Vince don’t you dear let her back in this house unless you want your funeral planned.”Good thing I had already told her it would be over. I know some would think what happened was uncalled for. But in our world when you hurt one of ours it becomes a death sentence. Destiny should be happy Bianca didn’t killer and just threw her out of the house instead. Who knows what Bianca will do if she ever crosses her path again.
I put my hand up in the air with my thumb raised and spun around walking out of the office. Meanwhile my phone vibrated in my pocket it was a number I hadn’t seen in a long time. It was Mia a woman I met during my search for Bianca’s mother. In case your wondering Mia is Julian’s younger sister.
“Hey, Vince.”
“Yeah Mia, what is it?”
“Julian wanted me to call and let you guys know we are coming over to your house for a meeting.”
“Ok, but why didn’t he call Angel instead of me? Angel handles all these meetings” I sighed into the phone.
“Well, Julian may or may not have see my wallpaper on my phone,” Mia squealed through the phone. “Anyways this will give me and you some time together, right?”
“Yeah, yeah,” I yawned into the phone. “See you when you get here. Now Leave me alone, I’m tired. We just made it back to Canada. I’m going to bed”
Pushing the end button, I hung on Mia and shoved my phone back in my pocket. Now I wish everyone will leave me alone so I can get to sleep. As I climbed the stairs to my bedroom I yelled “Nobody and I mean nobody better disturb me.”
“Okay, Sir. Grouch” Bianca hollered up the stairs at me.
Of course, what I wanted and what happened were two different things. No sooner did I lay my head down on my pillow and cover up. My door started to slowly open. I decided to ignore it hoping whoever it was would go away. No such luck, I raised one eye lid and show my 2-year-old nephews standing in front of me. “What’s wrong you two?”
“Uncle, Vince can we lay down with you?” Dante asked with his arm around Aries.
I smiled and patted the bed beside me. With huge smiles on their face both boys climbed up on my bed, curling up next to me. The scene would have been prefect to capture with a camera for my mom had she survived. With that thought in mind I took my phone out and snapped a picture of me and my two nephews making funny faces. Or laying against my shoulders.
When I thought about it. I took enough photos I sent some to my brother and Bianca. And a few to the different family members. I also posted them on my Facebook page with the caption: wishing my parents who are in Heaven could witness this precious sight. Angel and Bianca, you two did great. I will always guard and protect them with my life.Author Note
Finally finished the latest chapter. A lot is happening with the upcoming chapters. Now that the kid is back with angel and Bianca. I'm looking at Vince and Destiny in the next chapter. Destiny has apologized to Vince for her role in the kidnapping. The reason behind her part had been revealed. But Vince is having a hard time forgiving her. The following chapters will have a 12 years time skip where Bianca’s sons have taken over.
What are your thoughts with the way its going. Or should I develop Vince and Destiny love story more?
I have also made business cards to hand out as promotions for my books. Let me know if anyone wants one of the business cards and bookmarks.
