Chapter 22

Sorry for the late update everybody in my household came down sick after Christmas. But We are ready for the next chapter.

"Dante, you got a big mouth, damn it."

"What's the matter with everybody? Stop the screaming Bai is asleep," mom said, coming downstairs in the middle of the drama.

"Nothing, Mom. Dante just likes to tell lies and cause trouble."

The twins ran upstairs, pushing and shoving each other as their mother called out to them to get ready for bed. On the way up, Aries stuck his foot out and tripped his brother, making him slip and fall on the landing. With Dante chasing after him, Aries made a beeline for his own bedroom, slamming and locking the door behind him. The only sound you could hear in the hallway was earsplitting laughter.

Angel, Vince, and Bianca were in the office with Lei Zhao Xing going over what happened during the twins' birthday party. Lei glanced around the group as they talked and asked them why the woman attacked the kids. Bianca took a huge breath and scratched the back of her neck. "Because my mother is a narcissistic maniac."

"Bianca, tell him about your history with the attacker he deserves to know. After all, Bai is his birth daughter. Lei has been helping us since we arrived here."

While Bianca told Lei the truth about the attacker of the children being her mother, Angel handed him the file of information he kept about Joyce. "The relationship between the two of us is a very complicated one. Which started out with nothing but lies at birth and continued with her mother kidnapping our newborn while Bianca was in a coma."

When growing up, you never expect a parent to hate the very existence of their child so much. Most normal and sane people who become parents love their children. Would even die for them. Only somebody with major emotional and mental problems would stoop so low to threaten, kidnap or kill their own family members. Bianca has had to go through it all as a child growing up. A mother who went missing the day she was born and a father who was so obsessed with his new family he didn't see the abuse his daughter suffered or refused to see it.

I hate them so much. Every time I witnessed the tears fall from her eyes, and the scars on her skin, which will never go away. New thoughts of pain and torture come to mind. Say what you want about me. But nobody hurts my family and lives to tell a tale about it.

Having sat through Bianca's childhood story, Lei seemed to have trouble swallowing. It's a very heart-wrenching story when you hear it for the first time. If my parents were still living and seeing what she had gone through after we got together. Even my mom would have slapped the hell out of Bianca's mother, who was her own best friend at one point. Our parents loved Bianca far more than anything or anyone in this world. Sometimes even more so than my brother and me.

The office door was closed, but you could see a bit of light shine through at the bottom. While Angel and Bianca were talking, a shadow came across the bottom of the door and stopped. When I glanced over at my brother to see if he heard anyone at the door and saw he was still deep in conversation like nothing was wrong. I rose out of my seat slowly, made my way over to the door, and yanked it open. My twin nephews tumble through the door and fall on their faces.

"Can I help you two with anything?" I asked them as I reached down, grabbing them both by the ears.

"Ouch, ouch, Uncle Vince, let go. It hurts."

"Did you think of that when you eavesdropped on your parents? Why are you two so nosy?"

"We got company everybody," I said, glancing over my shoulder at the twins' parents.

Angel stood up from his desk and walked over to the boys and asked, "What all did you hear?"

"Dad, we heard everything. I always wondered why grandma kidnapped me and would say rude stuff about mom every chance she got. The woman has lost all reasoning and she won't give up. That much was clear when she attacked us this time on the boat."

"There was another reason for us coming to the office. To tell you, we placed grandma in the cell in the basement." The boys kept side-eyeing each other, having their own conversation which none of us could hear.

"Care to share what you're thinking with the rest of us?"

Dante and Aries scanned the room full of adults. "Can we go to bed now?"

I studied the door the boys left out of. They got to be up to something or will end up doing it, eventually. Following them out the door, I headed to my room for the night to get some sleep. Slowing my steps down, I dropped an arm around Aries and told him how much he reminded me of Angel when we were younger. I told him everything we went through because of Bianca. From the pranks, she pulled on us. She beat her dad up when he tried to take her back home. The only thing I didn't feel like telling him was how she blow her dad's safe house up. No child is ever ready to hear their mother is a sadistic mental case.

But it's no lie. Bianca has always differed from our other friends. One of the main reasons behind the hatred between Bianca and her mother I feel is that Joyce didn't want to be a mother and hid from her daughter for most of Bianca's life.

After entering my room, I headed to my bathroom for a quick shower before turning in for the night. Laying down on my bed, I flipped through the tv trying to find something to help relax me. But I just couldn't get comfortable. Something told me to get up. I climbed out of bed and went to Bai's room to check on her.

As I placed my hand on the door, I heard sounds one should never wish to hear coming out of the room where a child you raised slept. I cracked the door open and caught my nephew making out with my foster daughter. Pulling the door firmly closed again, I went back downstairs to my brother's office. With my hand on the door, I pushed it open, shaking my head.

"Bianca, please go grab your child."

"What's going on Vince?"

"Aries snuck into Bai's room."

"Well, they are of consensual age, and they aren't related, so what does it matter?"

Come on Bianca. They aren't even out of high school yet. I'm pretty sure you two don't want to be grandparents, right?

Dun Dun, Vince found out about Aries and Bai. What do you think will happen now that the adults know there is something going on between these two?
