Jax

The first human girl I find attractive and she happens to be the notorious vampire killer known as Swift. That's just my luck. I'm surprised she didn't serve me my balls on a silver platter. Vampire hunters pop up every so often but they fail in comparison to her.

They tell horror stories about the infamous Swift. A vampire killer who is more like a grim reaper. He is known for punishing those who commit a crime. But it was chalked up to be a myth. Nobody lives long enough to know if he is real or not.

But he's real and is not a man or monster. Swift is a beautiful human with golden hair like the sun and green emerald eyes. And when her hand touched mine and shocks ran up my arm. I knew I had to find out everything I could about her. I want to know all I can about her even if it gets me killed in the end. It's worth it.

We are meeting up today at an arcade in South Brunswick. I have a connection here who is a hacker. He is human but doesn't care I am a vampire. He is a high-school stoner kid and nobody would believe anything he said anyway.

I'm waiting inside the arcade Dougie works at. We are leaning against the ski ball machines. Dougie is yammering on about some prank he pulled at school. But I stop paying attention when she walks in.

Today she has a black and yellow jumpsuit on. Her cleavage is hidden just enough to make you want to see more. Her long legs are covered but all I can imagine are them wrapped around me. Her hair bounces when she walks and she looks like an angel.

A deadly angel.

All heads turn towards her as she walks towards us. She doesn't even notice all the guys drooling over her. I gulp and hope I don't look as nervous as I feel. Dougie must be wondering what I am staring at because he turns around to see Swift behind him.

"Is this him?" Swift looks Dougie up and down. Her lips curl up and she seems unimpressed.

"Well hello, doll face what's your name?" Dougie winks at her and looks her up and down like she is a piece of meat.

I start to interject but Swift beats me to it. She grabs the back of his head and knocks his face into the arcade game. She lets go and crosses her arms with a mean scowl on her face.

"Don't call me doll face! Jax, I thought you said this guy was a professional." I am speechless. Dougie looks at me rubbing his bruising face.

"Damn it Jax this girl is vicious. You couldn't give me a warning first."

I chuckle. "Sorry mate but I don't think she likes being complimented. Let's just get down to business aye." I slap his back and he winces.

Dougie starts walking towards the back and I follow behind. Swift walks beside me and keeps glancing everywhere. I assume she doesn't trust us and where we are taking her. She seems like the type to always be alert. I admire that quality.

We follow Dougie into a small office. He quickly takes a seat behind the computer. The room doesn't have much in here. Desk, computer, filing cabinets, and two chairs. Neither I nor Swift sit down. Both want to be ready for the news we are waiting for.

Dougie continues tapping away at his keyboard. Swift lets out a sigh and runs her hand through her hair.

"How long is this going to take? I thought you said this guy was the best."

"I didn't say he was the best," I murmur out. Swift rolls her eyes. Dougie looks insulted.

"I.am.the.best and I didn't find what you wanted exactly but I found something else that should help."

My interest is peaked. "Well what is it mate?" Dougie starts typing away again instead of answering me.

"I couldn't find anything on Aquarius. But I found some people who work for him. Call themselves the trouble trio."

"The trouble trio?" Swift scoffs. "What kind of name is that?"

I smirk. "What kind of name is Swift?" Her eyes narrow and if she wasn't so dangerous I would be turned on by the rage burning inside her.

She takes a step toward me and pokes my chest. "I'm going to kill you slowly vampire." I grab her finger and playfully nip it. She pulls away fast.

"It's Jax sweetheart. A name you will be moaning very soon." The words fall out of my mouth like vomit. I have no idea why I am flirting with her. She is a human.

We are in an intense stare-off when Dougie coughs. We both snap our heads towards him.

"Okay lovebirds. I'm giving you the address of a club they seem to brag about on social media. But be alarmed it's a vampire bar." Dougie holds up a piece of paper with the address on it. Swift quickly swipes it from him and shoves it in one of her pockets.

"Thanks umm, what's your name again? Oh well doesn't matter. Let's go Jax we have vampires to kill." She is smiling and practically skips out of the room. Her excitement to kill is alarming.

I say goodbye to Dougie and make my way out of the arcade. Sasha is outside leaning against a red 1969 Chevy Camaro convertible. The roof is down. It's a beautiful car. She has good taste for a human.

"So I'll find the vamps, interrogate them, kill them and let you know what I find." She turns around in a hurry and I put my hand on her shoulder.

"No way Swift. We're doing this together. I'm coming with you. It's a vampire bar. Could be dangerous." She chuckles and I narrow my eyes at her.

"I'm dangerous but if you want to tag along then the more the merrier. Just don't get any of your vampire germs all over my baby." She walks around and gets into the driver's seat. I jump over the door and land in the passenger seat.

"To a fun road trip between new friends, let's roll!" I do a fist into the air and Swift smiles and starts the car. Little did I know how crazy this road trip would be.
