"I know that it's a bit early... and buck and I have only been together for a little over six months. but I've known buck for 3 years..."

"Well... I was thinking about proposing to him" I said in a whisper.

"Hey babe!" buck said as he walks upstairs. "What are you guys talking about?"

"He told me he isn't coming in, until later" Bobby Answered.

"Why?" I asked.

"No clue. All he told me was that he had something to do in the morning, and that he'll be in around noon"

"That isn't fair." I laughed. Chimney always tells you everything, so he'll probably tell you when he gets here"

"You guys are so weird" Ravi said.

"You're just now figuring that out?" Chim laughed.

"Oh, hey Chim! I thought you weren't coming in until Noon." I said.

"I got done early."

"What were you doing?" buck asked.

"Jee had a doctor's appointment. And your sister is working, so she couldn't take her" Chim said.

"Is she okay?!?!"

"Yes buck, she's fine. it was just a checkup."

"Wait, so who's with Jee now?" I asked.

"Albert"

"You trusted Albert? -" Hen half asked, half said.
  ..
"Yeah. he's my brother"

"Mhm... He was the only one available, wasn't he?"

"Yeah" Chim sighed.

"Why didn't you just tell me Jee had a doctor's appointment, when you told me you were coming in late" Bobby asked.

"Because you would have told all of them, then buck would have worried more than he already did."

"To be fair, if any kid goes to the doctor even if it is just a checkup, it can be scary. because you never know if something changed or not and if you will get bad news" Hen said.

"Thats true. Luckily, everything was fine"

"Well, Youd probably notice something was up if anything bad were to happen" I said.

"Oh, for sure" Bobby spoke

"Well, I'd sure hope so" Chim laughed.

"Oh, speaking of kids. Denny wanted me to ask you if him and Chris could have a sleepover next weekend?" Hen asked Eddie.

"Yeah, I don't see why not! I'm sure Chris would be thrilled to have a sleepover"

"Awesome! Do you want to have it at my house or yours?"

Eddie looks at buck real quick and then back at hen. 
"Can we do it at yours?"

hen looks confused at first. because Eddie always says that at his house is fine, but then she quickly figured it out and smiled. "Yeah of course"

"Uh why? We usually do it at our house?" Buck asked confused. "I mean I don't care, but I am confused"

"Uh well they haven't had a sleepover at mine in a while, so why not" Hen said.

"Thank you" Eddie mouthed to her.

They talked for a few more minutes, until the bell rang.

"How bad is it cap?" Buck asked through their headset.

"From what I've been told, it's a bad car accident"
  ..
"How bad?" I asked.

"I'm not sure, they didn't tell me. they only told me it was bad, so I guess we'll find out when we arrive" Bobby said.

None of them talked much after that. they just sat in the truck silent until they finally arrived at the call. Once they got there, it was worse than bad. there were a couple flipped over. but for the most part they were just all piled on top of each other, but it definitely didn't look good.

"Alright Hen, Chim, I want the two of you going from car to car to see who needs medical help. If they need help, then make sure their stable enough and I want Buck and Eddie working on them while you guys move on to the next one's. Ravi, your with me. If any of you need help, radio me. There is another station around, so dont be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Now go!

"Hello! My name is hen, are you hurt?" Hen asked a girl who was pinned in her car.

"y-yes" she had a hard time saying.

"Are you able to move at all?"

"N...no. Its hurts to m-much"

"Okay, can you tell me your name?"

"Olivia"

"And how old are you, Olivia?"

"Her blood pressure is high but nothing to be worried about" Chimney said.

"Her pulse is steady, but it definitely looks like she's pinned"

"I'm Not seeing much blood, which is good." Hen radioed the boys. "Diaz, Buckley, I have a 25-year-old woman pinned in her car. She has a little bit of blood from what i can see, but it doesn't look bad. she said she can't move, it hurts too much. She has high blood pressure, but chimney said it wasn't concerning, and her pulse is steady as of right now"

"Copy that, Wilson. We're on our way" Buck said.

They grabbed their tools that they needed and rushed to the car.

"Hello! I'm firefighter Eddie Diaz, and this is my partner firefighter Evan Buckley. We're here to help get you out. Can you tell me how much pain you're in on a scale of 1-10, and where you're hurting at? I asked.
  ..
"Alot... Probably a 9 1/2... and it hurts on my waist and legs." Olivia said.

"It looks like Her seatbelt is stuck pinning her down, causing her waist to hurt." Buck said.
  ..
"That's an easy fix... her legs... might be a little trickier" I responded.

"Oh god... Am I going to die???" 
  ..
"Don't worry, we're going to get you out in one piece, and you'll be fine"

"Alright Buck cut her seatbelt and I'll hold it, so it doesn't hurt when we let go"

So, Buck and I did just that. once we cut the seatbelt, we were able to move her enough to unpin her legs. the gearshift was stuck in her right leg, so we had to be careful. Once we unpinned her, we were able to get her out of the car and onto a gurney. we passed her down to another paramedic and moved onto the next car. luckily that car wasn't bad. it took just a few minutes to get them out. it was car after car. Buck and I finally made it to the last car, but it was horrible. the car was badly wrecked, and inside had 3 people, a little girl was in her car seat in the back, she looked fine. No injuries as far as I could tell. the mom was unconscious in the passenger seat, the seatbelt was digging into her skin leaving a bad mark. she had a lot of blood on her head running down her face. her legs we pinned to the seat from the airbag, but it looked easy to fix. she had a bunch of open wounds and glass from the windshield and windows all over her body. the father was the one driving, he was awake but I'm not sure he wants to be. He had a huge piece of glass stuck in his chest, blood all over him, the gearshift was through his entire hand pinning it down, his legs had a bunch of glass shards stuck in them, and the seatbelt was cutting off his oxygen.

"This is firefighter Buckley, I'm with Firefighter Diaz, And we're at our last car. there's a little girl and her parents in the car. the vehicle is bad, but the injuries are even worse. the little girl is fine, but the mom and dad aren't. the mom is unconscious and has a lot of glass and blood. and her legs are pinned by the airbag. The dad is the worst. he's alive, but I don't know how much longer he has. the seatbelt is cutting off his oxygen. he has a huge piece of glass in his chest and his hand is pinned down with the gearshift. Diaz and I don't have the equipment for all of this, And we're running out of time"

"Eddie... She's not breathing, and her pulse is weak" Buck Said.

"Okay, well there's not much we can do while she's still in the car. for now, let's work on getting the little girl out and somewhere safe, so we can work on her parents"

We worked on getting her out, she told us she was scared. buck tried distracting her, so she didn't notice her parents. She told us her name is Amara, and she's 5 years old. She told us she loved dancing and swimming. She was very talkative, and it was adorable. However, she kept asking about her mom and dad. We told her they were fine, but we didn't really know if they were. Just as we got her out, Cap, Hen, Chim, and Ravi came up to us. we handed Ravi the little girl and he took her back to the firetrucks. While the rest of us got to work. We were able to save the dad. He was hurt really bad, but he was going to make it. Buck and I got the mom out alive and awake. But by the time we brought her back to the trucks and ambulances she started coding, and we lost her. Buck didn't really handle it well. When we woke her up, Her and buck talked and shared some stories. So, I understand why he didn't handle it that well. Luckily that was our last car, so it was the end of the call. We packed up the trucks and hoped inside and made our way back to the station. everyone was pretty quiet, but buck was extra quiet. we finally got back to the station and buck went to the bunks while everyone else went upstairs.

"Are you okay Mi Amor?" I asked concerned.

"That sounded convincing" I said and laid down next to him. "Talk to me"

"It's just that... She wasn't supposed to die. We got her out alive and She should have stayed that way. Now her husband has to be an only father. and her daughter will grow up without her mother, and they both have to live with that trauma" Buck said.

"Being an only parent isn't fun, loosing someone you loved isn't fun. But You always find a way to make it work. They will move on and make happier memories. yes, they'll always feel sad. but they'll make it work, and I'm sure he'll find someone to make him happy again"

"Oh, every day. But that doesn't matter, because I have you now. and I loved Shannon. but I know I love you more than I've ever loved her."

"I'm being honest buck. I love you, and I'm telling you everything will be okay. and that father and daughter will be okay too. We saved most of the people in that accident. Sure, we lost some, but that comes with the job. we're always gonna loose people. But we're going to save a lot too. so, take the wins when we can get them" I said.

"Your right..." Buck sighed.

"I love you Evan" I said and then kissed him.

"I love you too" buck responded and then cuddled into my side. so, I wrapped my arms around him and held him for a while.

"Hey is everything okay?" Hen came in and asked.

"Yeah, everything's fine" I said.

"Okay... Well, I just wanted to check up on Ya'll"

"We're okay, but thanks hen" Buck said and then she smied and left.

"How about we go and join the others?" I asked buck gently.

"Sure..." buck said and then got up and I followed him.

"Is everything okay boys?" Bobby asked as we were walking in.

"Yeah, everything's fine. I was just having a hard time dealing with the call, but I'm okay now" Buck said and looked at me with a small sad smile.

"Yeah, that was a pretty bad accident, so I get that" Chim said.

"I know they said bad, but I wasn't really expecting that" Ravi said.

"I was really surprised to see that many cars flipped over. I thought there'd at least be 1, maybe 2. not 6. But I am glad most of them were like normal" Hen said.

"Yeah, it was rough. but I'm glad we got to save most of them. obviously, it sucks that we lost the people that we did, but that comes with the job. we can't save everyone, but I'm grateful that we were able to save the ones we could" I responded.

"Couldn't agree more" Bobby said.

we finished talking, then bell went off one last time before the end of our shift. it was an easy call. just a couple stuck in an elevator, and neither of them needed medical attention. so once we got done with the call, we headed back to the station. We clocked out and got changed out of our uniforms so we could go for the night.

"So, what do you guys have planned tonight? Hen asked.

"Well, Chris is at abuela's for the night, so not sure. we'll probably just order take out and watch a movie or something" I said, and hen smirked.

"Okay well what do you have planned?" I asked her.

"My mom is watching Denny, so Karen and I can go out for dinner."

"That sounds nice. where Are Ya'll going?" Chim asked.

"To that new restaurant down the road. I don't remember the name of it. all I know is Karen said she wanted to go there so that's what we're doing"

"Not really. Probably what buck and Eddie are going to do. if Jee will actually sleep anyways" Chimney said.

"No. she's been crying nonstop. she's teething so I know it's painful. but at the same time, getting some rest would be nice"

"It will, you just have to find the right thing. Something cold that she can bite on usually helps. i know it worked for Denny" Hen said.

"Goodnight cap, we're heading out" I knocked on bobby's office.

"So, what do you want for dinner" Buck asked once we got in the truck and started driving.

"How about tacos? Can't go wrong with that" I said.

"That sounds good. Where do you want to get them at? or I could make them if you want"

"I'll just order them from somewhere, it's quicker and we can get them on the way home.  but your tacos are really good." I said and smiled at him.

I then decided on the place we would go and buck called in the order, once we got there it was done so, i ran in and grabbed the food and paid then left. Once we got home buck put the food on a couple plates, since we decided to share it would just be easier to put it on separate plates. I grabbed us both a beer and we went to the couch. Buck chose what we watched, and we began eating.
