Eddies POV.

It was the next morning. I had woken up around 7 to get Chris up and ready for school. Buck was still sleeping so I had to carefully get up, because after the last two days he's had... I didn't want to wake him up.

Chris and I sat down at the table and had breakfast. I made us both a bowl of cereal, and we talked for a bit

"Is dad going with us to drop me off?" Chris asked.

"I don't think so Mijo. He's had a long few days... It's probably for the best that he's still resting"

"Is dad actually, okay?... he seems really upset..."

"He is just dealing with something at the moment. but he will be okay!" I smiled a little.

"Okay... Is he going to come with you to pick me up?"

"Most likely yes"

"Yay!" Chris smiled.

"We're also going over to bobby and Athena's tonight for dinner. So please don't get your clothes too dirty today!" I smiled.

"Okay dad!" He replied.

Chris and I finished breakfast, then he got dressed and ready for school.

I threw on some decent clothes. I didn't want to dress up that much since we weren't going anywhere today, so I didn't want to dirty nice clothes just to drop Chris off. But I did put on a pair of sweats and my LAFD shirt.

Buck was still sleeping by the time we had to leave, which I could tell Chris was bummed but understood. Chris and I then left the house, and I took him to school.

We got there and I said my goodbyes to Chris and watched him head inside before leaving.
...
I decided to stop at the store and get buck a few things I thought he might like to cheer him up a little bit.

I bought him a few of his favorite snacks... and a few things he's been wanting. Like a new pair of wireless earbuds, and a new video game he could play with Christopher, and a new phone case that he saw last time and wanted... but decided he didn't really need it.

Once I left the store I headed back home, and it was about 9 o'clock. So, I figured he would probably we awake by then.

But to my surprise, when I got home, he was actually still sleeping.

He honestly looked the most peaceful he has the last few days. So, I stayed quiet, so I didn't wake him up.

About an hour or so later, Buck woke up and came to the kitchen where I was at. He still looked a little tired but for the most part like he got rest.

"Chris already gone?" Buck asked quietly.

"Yeah, you were still sleeping when we had to go. I didn't want to wake you up" I replied gently.

"Oh... what time is it?"

"10:17"

"I'm sorry I overslept..." Buck said and leaned against me, digging his face in my neck. It was adorable.

"Stop apologizing love. You needed the sleep! Chris was a little bummed, but he understood that you needed the rest" I replied wrapping my arms around him.

"Still... Are you picking him up today or is Carla?"

"I am"

"Then I'll go with you to pick him up... hopefully that will make up for this morning..."
