Steve
I watched from the door of the camper and panicked as Eddie's body dropped to the ground limp as anything. "Eddie!" Dustin screamed, piercing my eardrums and making my head throb."I'm going to get Eddie and drag his ass in here alright, keep your ass here Henderson or I swear on your mother!" I hissed treading up to the door carefully.
"What about Vecnafied Zombie Delilah?? She's going to murder you!" He screamed back, propping up his aching foot like a flamingo.
"So fucking be it," I said under my breath, getting in the doorway and holding my arms under Eddie's and dragging his body across the dirt, dust flying up into my face. I climbed the stairs and threw him down on the floor overall carelessly but I didn't care.
"Okay, Steve so this means we can go now right?" Dustin said sitting in one of the seats as I glanced to another row, Robin comforting Nance as she held her impossibly angled snapped wrist weeping.
"No. No, we can't." I said strongly, looking to the camper door hesitantly.
"What do you mean no! Several people need medical attention in this van, god knows if Eddie is even going to make it, what could hold this up!" Nancy screamed, hunched over taking jagged breaths.
"I'm not leaving her behind again," I said cracking my knuckles. Everyone in the camper collectively screamed their objection.
"Steve I get it, you regret what we had to do, and I don't want to lose her either but she's gone okay? We can't save her!" Robin cried out desperately trying to change my mind.
"I refuse to believe that," I said running into the trailer with nothing but my fist bared. The environment felt dead, ghostly and vacant, the tv static filling the air. "Delilah?" I asked carefully tiptoeing over shattered and trashed items.
I heard sharp breathing and with a glance to my side I saw her leaning against a wall, head tipped back and hands trembling, blood along her teeth and lips, dribbling down her chin and to her neck. "Oh sweetheart, Harrington, King Steve, you came back for more? Didn't I send you running for your life?" She taunted, standing up as straight as she could but it was clear something about her was fragile.
"You did but I have this tendency to go back to things that ultimately fuck with me," I replied staying alert to her moves. She examined me as well.
"I can tell pretty boy, now here's what I'm wondering, do all you pretty boys' blood taste the same, or is it unique to you personally?" She asked dramatically, stepping closer with an aloof saunter.
"Don't think I could tell you gorgeous, not really on board with the whole vampire thing, I thought we left that back with Dracula?" I said feeling uneasy. She smiled and for a second I found comfort in it until the whole dagger-like fangs glistened in the lights and I remembered that this wasn't my sweet Delilah.
She advanced towards me quickly, trying to push me down but I only stumbled a little bit, grabbing her wrists in one hand and pinning her against a wall, rattling the collector's items from a shelf beside us. "I said I would protect you, I'm not just quitting that!" I said struggling to keep her pinned as she started to push back.
"Well, you failed Steve Harrington! You will always be a failure! You stood there while your bitch ex-girlfriend shot me! You let me die in another man's arms! You left me to die no goodbyes, no apologies, nothing! You failed and you will always fail!" She hollered thrashing in my hold, tears fell down my face as her words tore me up.
"I didn't- I didn't fail you! I tried to save you, you can't make me feel guilty that won't work!" I cried over, shaking as I was about to lose my grip. She smirked like she already knew she won, like a different person entirely.
