Eddie
"Eddie stay safe for the night okay, we'll be back in the morning with some groceries," Delilah said getting up and putting a hand on my shoulder smiling."Woah hey I didn't agree to that!" Steve said nudging her lightly.
"I didn't say you had to agree to it Harrington, I have a car and money, so either I do it or you take me." She bit back at him confidently, not stuttering or letting her tone falter once. I smirked at his silence as he groaned.
"Hey, I'm in!" Dustin said smiling.
"Yeah, I don't mind coming for the ride." The girl in a blue jacket said heading out towards the car.
"Count me in on the conditions you get me a coffee this time," Robin said smiling at Delilah and heading outside.
"Okay fine, I'll take you tomorrow, you are a mega pain in the ass." Steve groaned.
"Oh really Harrington, well you are a very overbearing mother, I'm just good at persuasion." She smirked up at him making me laugh. He glared at me but I chuckled anyway. "Relax Steve, he needs to survive in here if we're gonna prove him innocent, I'll be out to the car in one second."
"Nah, nope, not gonna happen, you're crazy if you think I'm going to leave you in here with a guy who pressed a gun to your throat a half hour ago."
"I wasn't asking you, I was telling you, Steve you know I appreciate you taking care of me but I'm a thousand times more scared of that tentacle freak than I am of Eddie." She said putting a hand on his arm and gently shoving him away.
"Great now you're on a first-name basis with him!" Steve called as he walked out the door tossing his keys back and forth in his hands.
"I'm sorry about him, I don't think he has a vendetta against you, he's just paranoid." Delilah shrugged sitting back down next to me on the crate.
"He's right to be paranoid, I'm the town freak and don't worry, it gets better, I'm being accused of brutally murdering a girl," I said jumping up and folding my arms behind my head, leaning back a little as I looked down to her.
"I know you're innocent Eddie, besides for your first impression being a little bit more vicious than I think you really are." She said with a lopsided smile.
"You think so?" I asked quietly, dropping my arms to my sides and playing around with my rings.
"I've been haunted by that thing firsthand, it really fucks you up." She murmured. I grabbed her hands and brought her to stand up.
"Well, if I were an ugly asshole like that, I think I would be way more scared of you, you're metal, you've got a kick to you, I saw how you handled Harrington's ass, you've got a backbone."
She laughed softly and looked away. "No that's just how Steve and I play around I don't have a confident bone in my body." She disregarded.
"Stop, shut up, people like us, freaks like us, fake it until we make it, and I like to think that my confidence was pretty indestructible," I said letting her hands go slowly.
"Freaks like us? You think we're freaks?" She asked with a smile and raised brows.
"You're a freak Delilah, own it, we're the best in the business, why do you wanna be like assholes who get their dick up by throwing balls into a basket?" I said as the door swung open again.
"Delilah come on it's past the kids' bedtimes and probably yours too," Steve said leaning in the doorway.
"I'm coming mom, one second." She groaned. "I'll see you in the morning okay? You'll have to properly introduce me to the real Eddie tomorrow."
