No one was sorry she died, except for me. All she did was love and try to share her love with everyone who needed it. That's all she ever did, but they never stopped hating her for it. All she did was laugh and offer compassion to those weaker then her, yet they hated her for it
I tried to help change their minds but no one listened. Soon she had made a vow, never again would she trust, would she love, would she laugh, or give compassion, for she didn't do that anymore
After that, she changed. All of her kindness was gone, no longer there. Deep down I knew they were just afraid of her, of the power she held, afraid that she would ruin their normalcy, afraid she would go mad, maybe she already was mad
No one tried to stand up for her, except for me, but no one listened to a weakling that contributed nothing. Everyone thought she was a monster but she never was, the monsters were the people that hated her after one step out of line
And Now...
Here she hangs in the middle of the village. Where she serves as a reminder. Just a simple reminder that no matter how much someone loves and shows compassion for another, people are cruel, people just dont change
They still throw jeers and harsh insults at a lifeless corpse. No one ever cried over her death, they just cheered and celebrated her death. The fear of her killed her, but I don't think she cared, I think she feared me more than she feared herslef a little
I felt as rough hands shoved me, the stinging pain had been worsened by the man's hands touching the cuts on my back. I hit the ground with a thud and was kicked, my throat still burned and my body ached. The villagers were yelling at me, they surrounded me
My eyes shifted to the ground in front of me, heavy breathing left my mouth. I could see my own breath from how cold it was. My arms reach in front of my body, I dragged myself forward, my limbs rigid from not moving for so long. My hands moved to grab a set of familiar items, the steel handles were cold on my hands. Feeling as cold as ice, I picked them both up, my knuckles were white from how hard I was gripping onto the handles. All of her belongings had been burned, but the village citizens were foolish and pigheaded.
They didn't understand that elemental blades could not be destroyed by normal means, the twin blades were the only thing undamaged
I struggled to my feet, still breathing heavily. The pain in my ribs made it hard to breath, let alone stand up. There was nothing left for me in the village. The only person to ever care for me was dead, killed by the village we lived in, for being different.
I turned towards the gate, both daggers in my hands, the villagers seemed slightly scared from this. But I simply walked forward and the crowd parted. Village citizens yelled as I left, cheering as I exited the gate
I just continued walking, the air felt dense as I left, stiff and hard to inhale, feeling quieter and more lonely as I walked farther
I froze for a moment. There was two paths. A slight breeze of wind flitted across the snow ridden ground, I stood alone. Staring morosely at the snow covered paths ahead of me, I could still hear the loud echoing cheers behind me, no doubt they'd celebrate killing her.
I started walking along the left path
The noise of the village slowly faded as I walked farther and farther away from the place I had once inhabited and called my home. Yet, I just continued on the path, it wasn't well beaten down. There was a high chance people hadn't walked on this path, it reminded me more of a trail animals would walk on
