I love you
Three words, eight letters, three syllables, three consonants, two nouns, one emotion, many meanings, a big lie, and an even rarer truth
Yet Freya nor my own mother ever dared to say it to me, though my mother had never said it to any of us. To her, we were just simple disposable pawns
It was a frightening truth that there was no guarantee you would be loved. I believe my father had loved me. He had loved all of my siblings. But he had also seen us as weapons, he waged war because he wanted to be viewed as dangerous and strong, he needed to be viewed as dangerous and strong, he saw us as the perfect tools for it...
He became sick and sorrow with rage, so drunk on stardom he was willing to win wars even at our expense. I wished I could've been more than a pawn or weapon to them.
Freya had given me love, but she wasn't the love I yearned for, but a fire's a fire when your cold.
The small camp Sindri had set up was a nice surprise from the cold. He was hammering away and had offered us something to eat
Smoked fish with crackers, apparently Brok was skilled at fishing, and Sindri preferred cooking
We had taken out two trolls and a pack of wulvers to try and reach the chisel, but we were just barely about to get there when Sindri stopped us. It didn't seem to bother Kratos much because he needed to upgrade some of his stuff, and I needed my daggers sharpened.
Sindri had also given us tea. It tasted slightly more bitter than I would prefer. I think it was only bitter because Freya always made her tea extra sweet, I took another sip of the tea.
The heat of the cup warmed my hand, and the steam warmed my face. The smoked fish was quite good, given it was slightly over seasoned. It was also a bit spicy, which I think Kratos quite liked. I looked over at Atreus, his nose and cheeks were tinted a pinkish color from the cold. Kratos seemed to be done with his upgrades and I watched as he set his cup on Sindri's desk
"We need to get moving."
Atreus nodded and gulped the rest of his tea down, I did the same. Kratos stood at the exit of the small cave
"Bye Sindri, we'll see you later." Atreus exclaimed as he ran towards the exit, I followed suit. The cold gust of air that hit me made me shiver slightly, I took a deep breath as we walked. Having shoes for a change was nice, walking barefoot in knee deep snow would probably be more of a challenge.
I didn't quite understand how Freya could walk around barefoot all the time, she never reacted to the coldness of the mud or river. "C'mon, don't fall behind." Atreus grabbed my sleeve, pulling me along.
Atreus POV
"Y/n are you ever going to tell us why your rabbits so important?" I looked over at the [H/c] girl
"I already told you it's really complicated, I'll maybe explain when we have more time, just to summarize, he was cursed and me nor Freya have the power to reverse it."
"Cursed? Like the boar?" My father interrupted
"If you are talking about how he was once human, then yes."
