I am nothing. I'm like someone who's been thrown into the ocean at night, floating all alone.
I reach out, but no one is there. I call out, but no one answers. I no longer have a connection with anyone
I'm submerged in darkness, there is nothing but an eternal darkness around me
I don't know if I'm awake or sleeping, If I am who I was, If I'm remembering or forgetting. Something hazily flows between who I am and what exactly I was
I sat up, heaving. I looked over. There sat a man, the first thing I noticed was his outfit. A white shirt that looked somewhat fancy and black pants, he also had a complicated looking dark red cloak
Maybe he was a mage?
"Hey, you, you're finally awake."
I stared at the man, not being sure what to say. He had antlers that were paired with long sandy brown hair, it was tied in a small bun, but wisps of hair fell over his eyes. His eyes were a shade of olive green and slightly hard to see from this angle. The freckles that speckled his face were white.
"Hey, tiny bird girl. Are you still alive?"
The man waved a hand infront of my face, I stared at him. My eyes going slightly wider
"I wouldn't doubt it if you had a concussion, though that means my magic is getting a bit rusty. That spell should've cured most extreme injuries that you had and that should include concussions, right?"
The man rambled as I looked around the unfamiliar environment. The swampy dark atmosphere was lit with red lanterns, that were a soft kind of light that felt, strange
Maybe even a little, Desperate?
I wasn't quite sure but that's what they felt like. The light had a wild with desperation kind of energy
I looked back at the man who stood at a desk of sorts, still rambling, my eyes examined the funny looking desk, and something clicked. It was an alchemy table
"Anyways small bird girl, would you like to go back to Alfheim?" The man asked as he spun around to look at me.
"There was two people looking for you, though the older man was rather scary, so I wasn't sure if he was friend or foe. So, I hid you."
The man explained with a slight shrug at his last remark.
"So, I'm not dead?" I asked.
"Uh, no. You were quite close though. Took a lot more time than I had intended to get to you."
The man had turned back around and was looking at his desk.
"You had a fun assortment of magic ingredients and potions; you really must favor health and speed. Also, that dust you have is quiet, breezy..."
My eyes caught my pouch, it was sitting next to me. I snatched it up and looked inside, making sure he didn't take any. The man continued to talk, disregarding my reaction. I sighed; he hadn't taken any from what I could tell. I looked around a bit more, I noticed I was laying on a strange, raised slab.
