I believe I stopped being a kid the day my own mother sent me to a village, knowing full well that all the citizens would ridicule me there. I met that evil and abuse when I was only a child, but I guess I still was a kid.
I think if she was ever to ask if I blamed her, I would respond "Completely, fully. Everything that's happened to me is your fault."
I unnerved people, and I think she liked that about me. I looked different compared to my siblings, I had inherited both the goat and bird features, well my older sister had only gotten the bird wings. My older brother had been the most similar to me, both goat and bird parts. My younger brother had only inherited the horns, well he did get the wings but his were malformed. My younger sister had gotten both parts but her were much different from any of ours, beautiful and elegant.
Our mother's love was a competition, we would all push and shove for it. No matter how little the prize was or how big the risk was.
I shook my head, enough thinking about that. I sat in my hammock; it was already daytime. Atreus had fallen asleep by the time Freya had gotten back.
I continued to hum the familiar tune I had learned, well not learned, inherited?
No, that didn't sound right. I wasn't sure of what the right word was to explain it. My eyes shifted to the rabbit that sat in my lap, I slowly stroked his silky fur
Kratos and Atreus had retrieved my beloved rabbit, Telesto. He meant a lot to me.
Kratos had immediately wanted to ask a question after he handed me the rabbit, but I had been too worried about the scruffy shaken up looking rabbit he handed me to acknowledge his question.
Kratos and Freya were sitting and talking, Kratos asked what she could do about the black mist.
"The black breath is a corruption of magic, even I couldn't dispel, only the purest light of Alfheim can break through it."
"But that road is long, what does this goal mean to you?" Freya asked
"Everything, it means everything to us." Atreus replied, his eyes were slightly glazed over. He had been sleeping only a few minutes ago, I hadn't even realized he had gotten up. Freya seemed to think for a moment
"Meet me at the lake of the nine, the Tyr's temple, I'll wait there for you." Freya spoke as she opened the front door, she had transformed into her hawk form and had already flown off before Kratos could disagree or complain
"Are you gonna follow her?" Atreus asked
"I can't." I shook my head, Atreus was about to question but stopped, his eyes shifted to my wings. I despised the pitied look he gave me
"C'mon, we need to get to the boat." Kratos spoke
I whistled and the house shifted downwards, the door to under the house swung open by itself. Atreus seemed surprised but Kratos remained indifferent
I followed Kratos and so did Atreus, I closed the door, making sure it clicked shut
I had hung out under the house before but it had been way more flooded, it was at a lower water level now. I could see the row boat a distance away, there was three jumps to get down there
