"You're not mortal, are you?"

Kratos' eyes flickered over at Y/n, who walked beside him. His voice was low and gruff, a questioning tone accompanied it. The green hue of helheim was paired with a bitter coldness, Y/n's [E/c] eyes flicked away, looking off to the right

"You already know the answer to that. I knew you were beginning to suspect it. But I'm not quite immortal either though I suspect you are."

Y/n's tone was quiet as she spoke, not daring to look Kratos in the eyes. Mimir's questions earlier had been difficult enough to answer, more questions, (especially from Kratos and his condescending tone), she might not be able to answer

"What is your origin?"

The question threw Y/n off slightly, his tone had been just slightly softer. Emphasize slightly.

"Origin? Well, my father was goat folk and my mother was-"

"No."

Kratos interruption made Y/n finally look at him. This time Kratos' voice was harsh, a bit louder.

"I meant your sudden strength and recklessness."

Y/n scoffed slightly.
"Even I'm not exactly sure what happened, one day I was fine and the next I felt tragedy come crashing down on me."

Kratos wasn't satisfied with this answer, of course he wasn't. He could tell Y/n knew more than she was letting on, be it a little more or a lot more. Kratos' gaze was enough to make Y/n crack a bit more.

"I don't know where to start. My mother, she has a friend, I think he's some kind of a god named... now that I think of it I can't quite remember."

Y/n paused for only a moment before continuing.

"Anyways, he was a god of trickery and illusion, weird combination but that doesn't matter. She made some kind of a... deal?"

Y/n questioned her own words, she only knew bits and pieces of why she was the way she was. There were large gaps in her knowledge that weren't easily pieced together.

"I must've been at least 5 or maybe 6. I remember she made me sit down in a circle of herbs and sprinkled me in some weird dusty mix, drew symbols on me with charcoal, then chanted. She had this bottle of sorts? Well, it looked like a bottle, these three blueish orbs exited the bottle and kinda twirled around me and I felt as they swooshed through me. It was like blinking and I was met with a void."

Mimir and Kratos listened quietly as Y/n explained, they all continued to walk Helheim, they had encountered a few of the dead earlier but virtually none now.

"It was silent and dark, floating in inky water before being pulled under. I'm not entirely sure what she did, but she did it to each one of my siblings and we've all suspected she gave the god part of us. When I finally looked at myself, I had thin pupils and strange tattoos of snakes."

"What of your mothers' origin?"

"Well, I can give you a straight answer there. She was cursed, its right in her title. Ephiony the cursed."

"Why?"

"Why? From what I know, people compared her beauty to a goddess and that goddess got very upset, so she cursed her."
