I think I sympathized with liars more because I had a better understanding of them, I could understand why people lied, but my mind couldn't wrap around someone actually telling the full truth. I never got the full truth, it was always a slightly truth twisted or a complete lie

So I was confused when Atreus said something that I couldn't tell if it was a lie or a twisted truth

"Your voice, its beautiful." Atreus spoke

The soft sunlight warmed by skin, I was sitting on the large knocked over pillars. I stared down at the boy, my mouth slightly a gap

"Can I hear the song you were singing again?" Atreus asked, I continued to stare down at him

I couldn't see a hidden motive in the request, or a ounce of sarcasm. He had limped all they way over here to talk to me, Freya had allowed him outside to get some fresh air but he was still supposed to be minimizing his movement.

Atreus POV

There confused look in Y/n's eyes, she held a stringed instrument and had been singing but stopped when I'd complimented her

"What?" She asked, her confusion and untrust seemed to deepen. Her eyes gave it away, they were very expressive compared to the rest of her face. Maybe it was the way her pupils contracted, thinner and more snake like.

"Your song, it was about a story, right? Can I hear the rest of it?" I asked again, Y/n stared at me but after a few seconds started playing the tune again. I sat down on a nearby log

"There will come a blood god, who's blades will speak for him, he will fight for what is just, the corrupts fate is grim."

"There will come a young boy, with a heart as good as gold, he has seen the face of death, the sight will not grow old."

"There was once a goat man, who's rain was unjust, he died surrounded yet alone, with nobody to trust."

Y/n had stopped strumming
"There, now leave me alone." Her voice was laced with a foul venom

She had set down the guitar and went running, I watched as she ran through the woods. The song she sang about three people sounded familiar, well, two of the people did at least.

The first one was obviously my father, he would fight for what is right, though the part about "blades" didn't really sound right, it should have been an axe. Maybe she was talking about someone else, but it sounded pretty close.

The second was me, I was pretty sure. A young boy with a heart as "good as gold", the face of death will not grow old made me slightly nervous.

The third was the one I was stuck on, a goat man whose rain was unjust, we hadn't met many nonhuman folk. Just dwarves and spirits, along with a few others but never goat folk

Y/n seemed to be goat folk, but her wings said otherwise. Maybe some kind of hybrid?

She had also been singing about people before and I had interrupted her. I think it was basically the same people, but I wasn't sure.

"Atreus, would you like some lunch?" The witch called out

"Yes please." I responded. I waited awhile but the witch seemed to be taking her time. I hummed the same tune Y/n had played and sang; the witch's forest was nice.
