Love is unexpected

CHAPTER SEVEN: MEET WITH A CELEBRITY IDOL

Olivia's alarm started to ring, it was 5 am and the sky was dark outside. Luckily for her, Nessa was deeply asleep so she never realized when Olivia got changed and left the room. Olivia wore a sports shirt and tights and kept her earphones in her pocket. She silently closed her door without making a noise and went outside. No one was around campus so Olivia was comfortable jogging. She always wanted to start working out because Olivia was fat-shamed when she was young as a child although she never realized it, however, as she was growing, her height grew and her weight was distributed. She noticed all the comments that people told her that she looked skinny nowadays. From that day, she wanted to build a strong body and work out not to be skinny but to be fit! She jogged for 15mins but immediately got tired and sat down on a bench for a break.

Suddenly, she saw a dark figure. Although the sky was becoming red, it was still not clearly visible to her. The person spoke, "Tired already, it's only been some time." Olivia thought, "This voice oddly sounds like Lucas." As the figure came near her. She realized it was. He held out his hand, "Come on, you didn't wake up early just to sit?" Olivia smiled and immediately started jogging fast while ignoring his hand. Lucas got surprised and started jogging faster, "Competition it is then. Prepare to lose." They both were neck and neck until finally Lucas got 3 steps ahead of her and reached the end of the school campus. "Told you I'd win!"

Olivia scoffed, "Next time, you just wait and watch. I'll be way ahead of you!" Lucas smirked, "By the way, when did you start jogging?" Olivia got embarrassed, "I...uh started..." Lucas raised his eyebrow. "Don't tell you started today, surely you would be exercising a long time ago?" Olivia hesitated and blurted out, "I've been doing it for several years now, what do you mean I started today." Her eyes widen, "What did I tell him? Ughh why did I lie?" She murmured but as always, Lucas did hear it but this time, he didn't say a word and continued jogging back. Olivia said, "From now on, I'm gonna start. I've procrastinated for way too long!" After a while, she went back to her hostel and saw Lucas going into the elevator. She thought, "I don't wanna go in with him, he'll probably start asking questions on how I started and I don't wanna lie. So we're going through the stairs even though my legs hurt badly."

It was 6:45 am, and Olivia decided to go to the library and study since school was getting tough. That day, when she received her admission letter, they specifically wrote that the scholarship students should neither fail in their studies nor dance classes. She got scared that she might lose this opportunity if she was going to be careless. Olivia got into a quick shower and changed into a floral tunic top and white jeans. She grabbed her bag and quickly went to the library. She studied quietly and understood her subjects. At 8 am, she heard the bell and immediately went to class. All her classes went smoothly until lunch came. Unwillingly, she brought Lucas burgers and soda as he ordered.

The bell quickly rang and it was time for dance class. Her teacher Ms. Rachel said, "Today we're gonna do something different, I have a guest that I believe we're all familiar with. Please welcome Jack Novine!" Olivia got shocked for a while and jumped with excitement.

Unfortunately, it was loud enough to make the crowd silent, everyone started watching her. Olivia's cheeks became red with embarrassment until at last, he came. Everyone started to cheer for him, he gave a speech about his career advice and finally, taught some classic moves that Olivia always saw him do on TV and wanted to learn. She eventually knew how he did them. After the class, everyone stood in line to get an autograph and to talk with him. Olivia eagerly stood in the line, it was a long line but she was ready to wait because she was not going to miss this opportunity of meeting her idol! Suddenly, Lucas shouted her name. Olivia pretended not to hear him at first but he shouted again and showed a beckoning gesture with his hands. She thought, "He's calling me there, I can't miss this opportunity! Who knows when I'll ever get a chance to meet my idol." Olivia shook her head slowly and mouthed, "Please wait."

Lucas raised his eyebrows, "Are you coming here or not?" Noah was beside him. He grabbed his collar and quickly told him to act with him but Olivia didn't notice that and was scared that he might do something to him. She took a glance at Jack Novine and went to Lucas making an angry face.

"Go get me my water from my bag," Lucas said sternly. Olivia got offended and thought, "He called me all over here for this? What is Jack Novine goes away by the time I come back?" She quickly jogged across the hall and found his bag on a bench. She searched through some items but found nothing, Olivia emptied the whole bag but there was no water bottle. She ran to Lucas and slipped through a water puddle, "Ahhhh!" She fell right into Melvin's hands and they both fell. They both stared at each other for a few seconds until Olivia stepped on his toe while standing up. "Oww! Be careful Liv, who knows what could have happened If I wasn't there."

"I'm so sorry, I just slipped and fell down." Melvin said, "It's fine don't worry, I've been way over clumsier than this." They both chuckled until Lucas interrupted, "Ahem, If you're done flirting with her Melvin, you can go."

"But I wasn't flir-" Lucas put his hand up, "That's enough, I don't want an explanation." Melvin packed his things and left the room. Suddenly, Olivia realized about Jake Novine. She immediately started looking here and around, "He left...already?" Lucas said, "You didn't find my water right?" He removed the bottle from behind his back. "It was with me. Thanks for getting into all that trouble." He chuckled. Olivia clenched her hands and screamed. "Because of you and your acts! I COULDN'T MEET MY IDOL!" Lucas was confused for a while but stayed silent because he knew Olivia wasn't going to listen to him anyway. "Jack Novine has been my crush and my idol ever since I started dancing and...it was because of him that made dancing my passion. It was our thing; JENNY AND OURS!" Suddenly, Olivia broke into tears, "You ruined everything...I just wanted to meet him because I knew Jenny would do the same." She stayed silent for a few seconds to control her crying, "But you wouldn't understand my situation." Olivia ran away as fast as she could to the bathroom. She thought, "He probably thinks I'm overdramatic but meeting him was a dream of Jenny's and she did tell me before!"

Olivia sniffed, "Forgive me, sis. I'm not as strong as you were but I did try my best! I know you would forgive me if you were here but I will always regret this...I'll never forget what Lucas did to me and karma will pay for his actions."

Lucas gathered his thoughts, "I was just pranking her for fun. I didn't know it meant so much to her...Am I a bad person...? No, but then she flirted with my best friend!" Out of nowhere, Edward arrived and said, "Sometimes, people do bad things just to complete their goal without realizing their true intentions. They didn't flirt with each other, it was a normal conversation but you had other things in mind. Why? Why do you care if she's talking to your best friend?" Lucas said in a low voice, he gulped, "Had I messed up everything?" He stood there for a while puzzled and after a few minutes, he aggressively took his bag and said, "I'm going outside for a walk." Edward saw him leaving lost in his thoughts.
