Chapter 44- No Exit

It's been 5 weeks since dad went to Toledo to go and get Archie, but when he came home, he was alone. Said Archie is going to disappear for a little while longer until all the Gargoyle nonsense is over. Took Vegas with him so now we just have Hot Dog. Jughead's back, and Betty was at the Sisters high on drugs, Fizzle Rocks to be exact. Were not meant to be touching each other but Pea and I still go around holding hands
"Alright Serpents. It's come to my attention one of us has been dealing Fizzle rocks" Jug says sitting on his throne "slinging dope is not what we do. So from this moment on we're going clean. There will be no selling, or doing drugs. No crime of any sort will be tolerated. Anyone who breaks the Serpent code will be exiled. Permanently"
"I think it's pretty ridic that you vanish for a month on some vision quest with your bestie only to return and lecture us about responsibility"
"You weren't saying that Cher when you were helping us to break Archie out. And before you say anymore, his bestie, is my brother. My twin. You would have done anything for Jason, so be careful with your words" I tell Cheryl
"We have no money coming in Jug, how are we supposed to eat? we don't all get to go over to Fred Andrews house when we're hungry"
"Jug Fangs has got a point"
"We'll figure it out and get back to you. In the mean time. In unity, there is strength"
"In unity there is strength" we all repeat other than Toni and Cheryl who walk off
"Pea you know Cheryl's one of my best friends, but I don't think she's good for Toni. She's changing her"
"I'm not sure that's it babe. I think it's Jughead and how he's leading that's changing them" Pea sighs.

The next evening we're all gathered round the fire pit
"Serpent's. Earlier today I brokered a deal. Got us a paid gig. From here on out we will be working security for Veronica Lodge at her speakeasy" this causes everyone to start clapping at cheering "it's good news for us, but I've also gathered you all here for less celebratory reasons. Cheryl, Toni" I look at the two girls who are sat next to me and Pea "come up here"
"Excuse me? what did we do?" Cheryl asks looking confused
"You broke into the Lodge apartment and stole a Glamergé egg" Cheryl then stands up
"So what if we did"
"Cher, Jug said no illegal stuff"
"Cheryl you left your calling card, attaching yourself and by extension all of the Serpents to your crime" Jughead angrily tells Cheryl
"I'm not afraid of Lodge. What's he gonna do? call the sheriff? oh right there is no sheriff"
"Cher I don't think that's the point here"
"Rory's right. You broke the code.... turn in your jackets"
"Are you serious? Jones" Toni looks shocked "I'm a Serpent by blood"
"Can he actually do this?" I ask Pea who looks shocked
"I guess he can"
"You hypocrite. You give your drug dealer buddy Fangs a pass but crucify us?"
"Wait what?" I look at Fangs who looks sad
"Fangs told Sweet Pea, who told me" Toni says
"Who told me" Cheryl points to herself
"Why didn't you tell me?" I ask Fangs and Pea
"Knew you wouldn't be happy" Fangs sighs
"Yeah I wouldn't, but why? why sell drugs?"
"Mom's ill, can't afford her medication"
"Fangs you know we could have helped you, all of us"
"If your asking for our jackets, shouldn't you be asking for his as well?"
"Your right. Fangs give me your jacket"
"What the hell man" Pea walks forward
"It's ok Sweet Pea" Fangs gets up and walks over to Jug nearly in tears. He takes his jacket off and practically throws his jacket at Fangs "some leader you are" Fangs then runs off
"Fangs" Pea pushes past Jughead and runs after his best friend
"Cheryl, Toni"
"Well go but we're keeping our jackets" Cher crosses her arms
"Fine, but I need that egg back or Veronica won't give us the contact"
"Why the hell would I care? I'm not a Serpent anymore"
"Fucking hell has everyone forgotten the damn laws?" I shout out "look Jug I know what Toni, Cher and Fangs did is wrong, but really kicking them out? and Toni you've changed since dating Cheryl, she's become number one. I thought we were friends, but I never see you. And Cheryl we were once best friends. When you stated dating Toni I really thought it would be good for you, finally excepting the Serpents, but this? stealing? why?" Cheryl and Toni look down "I joined the Serpents because it was a family, but this, this is not a family anymore" I shake my head and walk off calling out for Sweet Pea and Fangs.

Dad being the amazing human said he would take in some of the kids from Quiet Mercy after Betty broke them out, but the farm got to them first. The Serpents also have their first mission.
Right now we're in the back of a truck, Reggies driving when we feel him stop.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" we hear Reggie say just as the curtain opens I kick whoever's there to the floor
"It's an ambush" one of the Gargoyles yell as Pea, FP and I jump off the wagon. Pea is holding a bat in his hand
"I did try to tell ya" Reggie says
"Pick him up" Pea and FP pick him up "I want you to go back to your Gargoyle King or your man in black or Hiram Lodge and I want you to tell him that Veronica is now under the protection of the Serpents and Riverdale has not fallen. Go." Jug pushes the Gargoyle away and he runs off. After this Jughead brings back Fangs to spy on the Gargoyle gang, which of course he accepts.
