Chapter 52- The Raid

"Is there any way that you can see this divorce as a good thing?" Betty asks V sitting down at Pops as V is handing over a shake
"Yeah. Mom and dad were arguing so much before they got divorced, but now they get on really well. Of course I wish they were still married but it's so much better now"
"I'm trying to find a lining of even tarnished silver, but .. my parents raised me to believe that family is the most important thing in the world"
"I'm sorry V" Betty gives her a sympathetic smile. The door dings and in walks Evelyn holding a flyer
"Veronica, hi. Do you mind if I hang some fliers? the farm is having an open house tomorrow"
"You mean cult?" I mutter as I start to wipe down the counter top
"An open house?" Betty frowns
"Yes. We are opening our doors to visitors. Everyone is welcome to tour our renovated premises, meet with Farm elders, and learn about our values and practices"
"Go ahead Evelyn"
"Thank you" she walks off smiling
"Rory fancy joining the B and V team" Betty asks
"I'd love to" I smirk at them.

"If you cross over this way you'll find two
of our more artistic members, expressing themselves" Kevin tells us as we are walking down a hallway "Hi, Megan. Hi, Garrett"
"Hi" the girl Megan replies
"At the Farm, we like to nurture everyone's unique talents"
"It's like Hockney meets Heaven's Gate" Veronica says in a hushed tone to me and Betty
"Now, would anyone like to guess what this room is used for?"
"Fucked up rituals" i mutter
"Took the words out my mouth Rory" Betty looks at me
"Sorry Rory I er didn't hear you"
"What's behind there?" Betty points to a door
"That is just the janitor's closet"
"Yeah right. It's probably where they keep the dead bodies" I cross my arms. Both Betty and Veronica look at me with a frown
"Now, if everyone will follow me, I'll show you the garden" Kev passes though me and Betty when Alice walks out of the door we were stood in front of
"Betty?"
"Mom. Go Go ahead, you two. I'll catch up with you in a bit" Veronica and I nod our head and continue on with the tour.

I'm dropped off home and walk into the kitchen where Jughead and Archie are
"Betty said you went to that Farm tour today. Your not joining are you?" Jughead asks
"No of course not" the phone rings and I walk over to answer it
"Hello?"
"Would you accept a collect call from the Leopold and Loeb Juvenile Detention Center?"
"Errrr sure?" I reply with more of a question thinking have one of the Serpents gotten into trouble
"Archie it's Mad Dog"
"Oh errrm hi. Sorry this is Rory his sister. I'll errm just pass you over" I hand the phone to Archie "it's someone called Mad Dog"
"Mad Dog" he puts the phone to his ear "dude what's up?...."

The following day I'm working at Pops. Archie walks in with two guys I've never seen before. Grabbing my notepad and pen I head over to their table
"Hey" I greet my brother
"Rory. This is Mad Dog and Baby Teeth. Guys this is my sister Aurora but we all call her Rory"
"Nice to meet you" Mad Dog nods his head at me
"You as well, Archie's told me a lot about you, Baby Teeth aren't you in with the Serpents?"
"Yeah why?"
"She joined because her boyfriend is a Serpent"
"Ok, not the only reason I joined" I laugh at Archie who smiles "you will probably know him. Sweet Pea?"
"Ahhh so your the one who tamed the beast"
"Pardon?" I frown looking confused
"He enjoyed a lot of female company"
"Oh I see"
"But that was obviously before he knew you...." Baby Teeth trails off
"I have to get back to work, but what would you all like to drink or eat" Archie gives me his usual order then Mad Dog and Baby Teeth give theirs.

"Pea can I ask you something?" I look at my boyfriend who's trying to do his homework
"Sure" he puts down his pen and looks at me "what's up?"
"Earlier, while doing my shift at Pops, I met Baby Teeth and he said that you used to enjoy being with a lot of girls" this gets Peas attention, just then his phone beeps, he looks at it and sighs
"I'm sorry it's Jughead. I need to go" Pea starts packing his things away
"Babe I've just told you that I've just been told that you slept around and now your just leaving?"
"It was before you and I dated"
"I know, but..."
"Then what's the issue?" he cuts me off
"The issue is that you didn't tell me. I found out through a Serpent who's been in juvie with my brother" I almost yell at him
"I'm sorry I have to go. I'll talk to you later" normally he kisses my head but today he didn't. Instead he walks out of the house leaving me in my kitchen alone. Sighing I try calling Toni for advice but she doesn't answer, so I try Cheryl, then Fangs, then Betty and Veronica lastly I try my brother who again doesn't answer. Groaning I hop off the kitchen stool and head upstairs to my room. What the hell has Jughead got Pea doing to make him leave like that?
