Chapter 51- Big Fun Pt1

Here we are again. The musical episode. Again I wasn't to sure how to set this one out, but I hope you like it. I know I've changed the storyline a little but I'm sure you guys won't mind right? I've tried to give some I guess stage directions but some parts during the singing you will have to use your imagination on what the character are doing/singing to

Pea and I audition, me for Veronica and him for JD. His audition was before mine and he was so good! he sang Freeze Your Brain, and then it was my turn
"Whoo" I hear him yell as I get on stage
"So I'm going to be auditioning for the role of Veronica and I'll be singing I Say No"
"Ok Rory off you go" Kevin smiles at me and the music begins to play
"You are a drug. You are a poison pill. I've got to kick this habit now or else I never will. I love the rush. When you would hold me close. But you will not be satisfied until I overdose. This is it. Hit the brake. I am finally awake. Let me be. Let me go. You need help. I can't provide. I am not qualified. This troubled teen is getting clean. I say no...."
Once I have finished singing Pea is up on his feet clapping which makes me a little embarrassed
"Well there's no denying that you and Sweet Pea would for obvious reasons have great chemistry together. Thank you Rory" I go to sit next to Pea who places an arm over my shoulder. Next up is Josie who also auditions for Veronica. While she's singing Pea leans over to me
"You've got Veronica in the bag. Trust me"

The cast list for the musical goes up a few days later and then rehearsals begin....

Kevin
"And you know, you know, you know life can be beautiful"
Veronica and Betty
"You hope, you dream, you pray and you get your way"
Cheryl
"Ask me how it feels lookin' like hell on wheels..."
Pea
"My God, it's beautiful!"
Rory
I might be beautiful... and when you're beautiful...

We all finish doing a little improve to song to get warmed up then Kevin starts talking to us about the musical this year. Pea and I sit next to each other hand in hand while Kevin is stood on the stage
"Greetings, Heathers family. Before we start today, there's been a slight change to our creative team. You all know Evelyn Evernever has been
helping me produce the musical" I roll my eyes. I really don't like this girl "But I've also asked Evelyn to step up and be my co-director"
"Oh goodie" i mutter to just Pea who laughs. Evelyn stands up and walks over to Kevin smiling
"Yay. So fun"
"What?" Betty frowns confused "Kevin. No. You always direct the musical alone"
"Which has been incredibly stressful, Betty.
Especially after last year's events" I hear Fangs scoff next to me and look at him
"Can we just not talk about Midge, please?" I give him a sad smile
"Now, how about we do a rundown of everybody's parts, catch Evelyn up to speed?"
"I'm playing Veronica Sawyer" I smile
"And I'm playing JD, Veronica Sawyer's bad-boy love interest" Pea gives my had a squeeze
"Reggie Mantle, aka jock Ram Sweeney. Gonna bro it up with my bud Arch, here. Just two single straight dudes, doing some theatre" Reggie rubs Archie on the head messing up his hair
"We will be changing the script ever so slightly for obvious reasons of Archie and Rory being twins" Kevin says
"I'm Josie and I'll be Rory's understudy" Josie says a little bitter, probably because she is meant to be an actual singer
"Obviously I am playing Heather Chandler" Cheryl says smiling
"Betty cooper and I'll be playing Heather Duke"
"And I'm Veronica playing Heather McNamara"
"Given how much dancing there is in Heathers, Evelyn and I felt we should bring on a choreographer,so, give a big Heathers hello to Riverdale's resident Fly Girl, Toni Topaz" Toni walks out on stage. Pea, Fangs and I cheer as we all clap.

Evelyn thinks it's a grand idea to head into the student lounge and lie on the floor. I lay my head on Peas thigh as I look up at the ceiling
"Everything in your lives matters. There are universal truths within each of your personal experiences. A you inside of me, a me inside of you"
"Did you get your speech off Heathers?" I scoff "no one sees the me inside of me" I sing in the tune of the song
"Aurora focus please. In rehearsal, we are going to explore our own personal traumas and experiences, and exorcise them through our art"
"So your a shrink now?" I sit up looking at the girl
"All right, Cheryl, Veronica, Betty" Kevin claps cutting me off "Candy Store set and costumes are ready. Go get changed"
"Aurora can you stay back a minute?" Evelyn says with a stoic facial expression
"I'll see you in the auditorium" Pea pecks my lips and walks away with Archie
"What?" I sigh
"You seem to be a bit stand offish with me why is that?" I just shrug "what have I done?" again I shrug
"There's just something off about you. Funny how you and G&G arrived at the same time isn't it?"
"I can assure you that I didn't start that game"
"And I can assure you I will continue to be off with you until you give me a reason to trust you" I give the girl a sweet smile and walk to the auditorium where I see Pea sat down next to Fangs
"So, this number is about the Heathers' undeniable power. Each of you can get anything you want at any time. So, really unleash that force"
"We'll start with some simple steps" Toni stands up
"Yeah, we got it, thanks" Cheryl stay not looking at Toni
"What's up with Cheryl?" Fangs asks me
"Dunno" I reply
"Toni said something about them having a fall out the night of Archie's fight. She's living back at her grandpas" Pea tells me
"Oh shit" now I feel guilty. I haven't been spending much time with Toni since she left the Serpents. I miss her
"Toni has some fantastic choreo"
"How very" Cheryl rolls here eyes at Kevin "But my Heathers and I have worked out our own choreography"
"Come on Cheryl" Toni says irritated "I'm trying to be professional here. Can you not?" Cheryl gives a nod to Jughead to start the music and begins to sings while walking up to Toni
"Are we gonna have a problem? did zombies eat your brain? you've come so far, why now are you yanking on my chain? I'd normally slap your face off, and everyone here could watch but I'm feeling nice here's some advice listen up, biatch!..."
"....Honey, what you waitin' for? welcome to my candy store. It's time for you to prove your not a loser anymore and step into my candy store"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa" Toni now buts in
"Oh god this is going to be a long day" I groan making Pea chuckle as Toni carries on singing the chorus of Candy store.
Finally it's over after their dance/singing battle
"Ok thank you for that Cheryl and Toni. Rory, Sweet Pea go and change so we can run through Our Love Is God" Kevin sounds exhausted already. This will be fun.
