Chapter 48- Requiem For A Welterweight Pt2

"Seriously she sent them after you? I thought you and Cheryl were friends?" Archie asks as we walk the halls of Riverdale High the next day
"Yeah well so did I. I know her moms a bitch but I honestly thought Cher was on our side" I sigh as we stop at Archie's locker
"So you've barley been home recently"
"Yeah I know. Sorry, hated the fact you and dad have been fighting. It's quieter at Sweet Peas, well not really because Fangs has been super lonely recently so ends up coming over nearly every night" I chuckle
"Well you'll be glad to hear that we're not fighting anymore. And if you had been home, you'd know that I'm playing the guitar again, I've been singing with Josie"
"Josie? I thought she and Reggie were... ya know friends if you catch my drift"
"Yeah they were, but he wanted a relationship and she didn't so it ended"
"Oh. So you and Josie then?"
"Well..."
"Hey, Archie can I chat with you?"
"Err sure"
"I'll see you guys later" I give Josie a quick smile and head over to my locker to grab my books and when I see Jughead at his locker. I decide to walk over to him to apologise for last night
"Hey Jug"
"Hey Rory"
"Look, I'm sorry for how I acted last night, I could have said things and handled things a little differently. Although I don't agree with certain things you've done, you did what you thought was best. And you are the Serpent leader"
"I appreciate that Rory" I give Jughead a smile and go to my locker to get my things out for my first period.

By the time lunch comes around I'm starving having not eaten a lot for breakfast because Pea and I were running late
"Holy shit I needed this" I moan biting into a burger as Archie and Josie sit down at the table Pea and I are sat at
"Did you not have breakfast this morning?" Josie chuckles. Pea and I look at each other then back at her
"Errm..."
"Guys really?" Archie scrunches up his nose
"Oh has Archie told you?"
"Told me what?" I frown
"That he's got his first proper fighting match on Sunday"
"What? why didn't you tell me?" I say looking at my twin brother
"Because I didn't think you'd be interest" Archie shrugs
"Of course I would be Arch. Does dad know?"
"No so keep it that way. Anyway Josies singing on Sunday at the Speakeasy you should go"
"And Miss my brothers first fight? no way. I'll be in the stands or whatever cheering you on. Won't we Pea" I look at my boyfriend with a wide smile
"Of course. We will both be there"
"Hey guys" Betty says joining us
"Hey Betty, can you tutor me tomorrow night?" Archie says changing the subject.

Sunday night rolls around. Pea, Josie and I watch Archie in his first match, we watch as his opponent hits Archie across the face making me wince in pain. Archie sits down on a stool and we watch as Mr Keller cleans up his face. Archie has a quick drink then gets back in the ring. I take hold of Pea's hand
"Come on Archie" i mutter to myself as the room erupts into cheers, some for Archie and some for the other guy in the ring named Randy. Randy head butts Archie in the face, I can see the blood instantly running from his nose "holy shit"
"He'll be ok" Pea reassures me. Once again Keller cleans up Archie and then his back in the ring. Archie gets some good punches in and almost as soon as the fight started it ends
"Ladies and gentlemen we have a split decision. Judge Williams scores 8-7 Ronson. Judge Anderson scores 9-6 Andrews" Pea, Josie and I all cheer "and Judge Paterson scores 8-7..." the 3 of us all feeling and looking nervous, hoping Archie has won "for your winner and still undefeated welterweight Randy Van Ronson" I sigh slumping into my seat
"Hey he still put up a good fight. It's only his first one" Pea puts his arm around my shoulders.

Josie Pea and I all wait for Archie to come out after getting cleaned up and changed. When I see him walking out with his bag I start clapping him
"Well done Archie"
"I didn't win Rory. I think your a little confused to how this all works" I roll my eyes at him
"Still. You did really well out there"
"So much for not messing up your pretty face" Josie comments while smiling at Archie
"Sorry to say but dads so going to notice" I chuckle
"Yeah, how was your show Josie?" he asks
"Oh I killed it like you did here" now I feel as though me and Pea are intruding
"Hey Arch, Sweet Pea and I are going to head off. I'll see you at home"
"Ok, I'll see you guys later" I take Peas hand and we head out of the venue
"So Josie and Archie are a thing?"
"I'm not to sure to be honest. But it will suck for Reggie if Archie and Josie get together officially because she told him that she didn't want a relationship"
"Why does everyone's relationship have to be complicated. I mean look at us. No drama"
"Who would have thought we would have the most normal relationship. A Northsider and a Southside Serpent"
"Well said Northsider hasn't ever been your typical Northside girl" Pea says leaning down to kiss me "and she wears her Serpent jacket very well" he kisses me again making me smile "but she looks better with only her jacket on"
"Is that so" Pea hums in response while smirking at me "so my place or yours?" I kiss Pea then walk over to his bike, in no time at all we were on our way to Tent City.
