I woke up in my bed in the still dark room. I sat up and my head started spinning. I waited for it to pass before standing up. My stomach grumbled and I looked around the room to see if they had brought food while I was sleeping. There was two bowls near the foot of the bed. One was full one was empty. Thalia had been up while I was sleeping and the empty bowl was probably her way of telling me that she had already eaten.

How long had I been asleep?

I walked towards the bowl and saw that there was some kind of soup in it. I quickly ate it up and started thinking about way to get out of this place. Then I remembered the red glow under the bed. I got down on my stomach and looked under the bed. There was a small red, glowing rock under the bed. I grabbed it and examined it for a while when a thought crossed my mind. I remembered my father telling me about a rock that looked exactly like the one I was holding. The rock was supposed to explode on contact with something solid.

I decided to try to see if it was true. I got up and went to the other end of the room. I threw it as hard as I could at the door. It hit the door but did not explode. I crept towards it and when I was in the middle of the room, it blew up. I was thrown back against the wall, hitting my head against it. I could see black circles at the edge of my vision slowly closing in. I looked up at the door and saw that it was still in place. The only damage done to it was a big scorch mark on half the door. Then, I passed out.
