Marissa dared to step into the room, feeling as if the Allspark was staring at her as it sparked and flashed plasma-like strands, similar to the pattern on the bracelet. The minute her foot touched the floor of the once sealed room, a flash of lightening reached for her, scaring the woman into hiding behind the wall on the other side of one guard.
'What am I doing here?' She asked herself. 'Why couldn't I have just given Vector to Optimus? This was stupid!'
Her heavy breathes were heard by the man forced against the wall, their eyes locking for a brief moment. He took that opportunity to shake his head as best he could. The device he was guarding was clearly going haywire. It was too dangerous for a civilian like this woman. How she entered the heavily armed base, he had no idea, but there was no way he was going to be able to even protect her from whatever was going on. To the man's dismay, the brown eyed woman nodded her head, still with fear forcing her pupils into pinpricks as she rounded the corner again.
Deciding to take Vector Sigma off her wrist, Marissa held him out toward the sparking shard.
"What now?" She asked the entity, dodging bolts of energy as best she could. This was not her idea of 'saving the day', but she supposed such a happening came in many scenarios.
'Bring me closer, Marissa.' Vector Sigma urged, the strings of plasma within the bracelet beginning to move nearly as much the energy striking off the walls.
Marissa obliged, closing her eyes tightly as both pieces began to glow, and the floor began to vibrate with energy. Her bare feet began to feel hot, and the tips of her hair started to prickle as lights flickered and blew. She wasn't sure how close she was supposed to get to the Allspark shard, all she knew was that her thin lids were no longer enough to keep the light from her eyes. The next step was to use her free arm, but with an even brighter flash, Vector Sigma was torn from her fingers and a shockwave of sound forced the human to cover her ears.
She wondered if she screamed, but her memory was far too hazy as she opened her eyes.
Finding herself on the floor, the human femme guessed she had fainted though it must not have been for long as groans from outside the door met her ears. With terrified eyes she searched for what might be her entity friend, having no idea of what he'd look like after reuniting the two halves. Scrambling to her bare feet, Marissa rounded the fried case, or whatever pedestal they had kept the relic in, finding a small cube, no bigger than a Rubic's Cube puzzle.
Picking it up, she held it in between both palms, staring at it in wonder.
"Vector?" Her voice sounded small and rough, so she guessed she had screamed earlier.
'Hello, Marissa.' An unfamiliar voice dripped in her head, a deeper, far more powerful voice. 'Your friend is still here, in fact, he is I. Now is not the time to speak, however. Follow me.'
