Tonight is finally here. My 21st birthday!! But that's not all I get to see Luke Bryan perform on the same night. Wearing a black cowgirl hat on my head with one of his new shirts that were selling tonight. Some torn blue jeans shorts and my cowgirl boots my mom bought me. Walking up towards the stage my best friend and I paid a lot so we could stand in the pit right in front of the stage. We put our money together to get two tickets since I am trying to be a writer but I haven't made a bunch of money yet. "Y/n, look at the camera. This has to be recorded. We are officially here to see Luke on your 21st birthday!" My best friend Chloe holds up her phone recording me standing directly in front of the stage.
"Chloe no. Stop it. You don't have to record this." I try snatching her phone from her but she's taller than I am so she manages to keep it from me.
She smirks turning around and snapping a picture of us together to post on Instagram later tonight. "You'll thank me for this later. Who knows maybe he will pull you up on stage during a song?" She teased where I shoved her feeling my face turning red a little. Chloe and I have been best friends since we were babies. Our moms were best friends so we were always close because of it. It was actually her who called me screaming in the middle of the night when the schedule announcement was posted.
Taking my cowgirl hat off my head I run a hand through my hair smiling at her. Everyone around us in the crowd started cheering when the whole stadium went black then the familiar country music tune could be heard through the speakers. Chloe and I wrapped our arms around each other squealing like five year olds seeing Luke coming out on stage singing Dirt Road Diary. He's wearing a flannel and his baseball cap on backwards. He throws his hands up turning the whole place dark then the lights come back on with him carrying a margarita in his freehand. I sucked in a breath when he bends down handing it to me. I take the glass from his hands blushing like a mad woman. Chloe was recording the whole thing beside me. "Happy birthday." He replied before I spun around seeing in her other hand was a sign she had hidden underneath her jacket saying it was my birthday and to give me a drink.
"Everybody here ain't from here. But we're here doin' our thing. Lettin' go a little, little by little. Sippin' on a frozen drink. Tiki bars tik'n, pourin' all weekend. Clouds ain't leakin' no rain. Two pieces shakin', white caps a-breakin'. We ain't feelin' no pain, it goes like. One margarita, two margarita, three margarita, shot. Don't worry 'bout tomorrow. Leave all your sorrow out here on the floatin' dock." Luke started singing One Margarita but I hold my mouth opened glaring at my friend's smirking face.
"Surprise Y/n!" She jumped up and down as I slowly drank the alcohol in my hands blushing even worse than earlier.
"I can't believe you did that and didn't tell me!" I fought back where she threw her arm over my shoulder just starting to dance to the music.
For the rest of the concert I held the glass in my right hand holding onto my best friend with my other arm. We cheered and sang every single song we knew by heart exactly. He decided to end the concert with one of my favorite songs. "The next Friday night. We were sittin' out under the stars. You should have seen her smile. When I broke out my guitar. She was like, "Oh my God, this is my song. I've been listenin' to the radio all night long. Sittin' 'round, waitin' for it to come on and here it is". She was like, "Come here boy, I wanna dance". 'Fore I said a word she was takin' my hand." Chloe and I started twirling the other out and back into the others arms not realizing that during that time Luke didn't take his eyes of you two dancing. "Spinnin' in the headlights she gave me a goodnight Kiss. And she said, "Play it again, play it again, play it again". And I said, "Play it again, play it again, play it again". Yeah, play it again, play it again, play it again. Somebody, play it again, play it again, play it again."
"Thank you so much Indiana. You've been a great audience tonight. We'll see you all next year!" Luke removed his ball cap throwing his arms up in the air. Chloe and I throw our hands up in the air before I down the last of the alcohol probably going to regret that choice in the morning.
It took us an hour to get out of the stadium I walked over about to throw the glass away until Chloe grabbed my forearm seeing something. "Wait what's that on the bottom?" Lifting the glass up I gasped seeing a piece of paper stuck to it. Removing it I unfolding it to see a note with messy handwriting that has Luke's signature on it. "Here's my number if you want to see me again. I know I wanna see you - Luke." Chloe grabbed my shoulders squealing and shaking my shoulders. I felt my face turn as red as a tomato reading the note over and over on the drive home.
