Why'd You Follow Me

The bartender slides me another shot of tequila and I have no idea what number I am on but I don't have a car since Chloe and I rode in Luke's limo to the concert. My hair falls in front of my eyes where I couldn't see very well. The blue and purple lights spinning around with the band playing music. Slamming my hands on the countertop I luckily had my notebook with me where I just started writing down all my feelings on the page until I saw the pages get wet. Lifting my freehand up to my eyes some random guy came up with dark brown hair and green eyes. "A girl shouldn't be crying in a bar. What can I do?" Whipping my head around to him I pouted towards the guy. Closing my notebook I jumped down from the barstool carrying the bottle of tequila that the bartender had left for me. The guy watched me but I just didn't give a crap because he was probably the same as Luke who would just cheat in the end. A random girl grabbed my arm pulling me up onto the stage where the band was having people sing. Grabbing the microphone I gasped seeing the door opened with Luke walking inside.

Sitting the bottle of tequila down on the floor I grip the microphone in my hands. I have no idea how I am feeling right now that he is here in this bar. That he's not off with Caroline or whoever that blonde was in the audience. He moves through the crowd as the lyrics to a song I didn't know appeared on the screen so I just started singing. Just About Over You by Priscilla Block was the song name. "I've stopped looking for your truck. Every time I go somewhere. I don't scroll through the past anymore 'cause I don't care. I'm finally putting on the shirt I like. Tight jeans, big hoops with my hair up high. The least you could've done was give me the bar tonight. Why'd you have to come back in right then. Right when I was just getting good and gone? Guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. You must've heard I was moving on. Then right out of the blue. A quarter past two, I'm all about you. When I was just about, just about over you. I was just about, just about over you."

"You could've stayed with the guys, acting like you didn't see me. It would've hurt a little less if you'd bought some girl a drink. But you had to walk up, messing me up. I'm drunk, wondering why it's gotta be like this. I thought that I was moving on, but now I'm starting back over again. Why'd you have to come back in right then. Right when I was just getting good and gone. Guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. You must've heard I was moving on. Then right out of the blue. A quarter past two, I'm all about you. When I was just about, just about over you. I was just about, just about over you." Luke stands right in front of the stage watching me struggling to not cry or throw this microphone at him. Somebody else entered the bar where I saw it was Chloe. She ran up shoving him to move forward but I didn't see him move an inch. Throwing my hair over my shoulder I caught sight of him almost crying.

People around them started dancing when the song got better. I spin around in circles in my cowgirl boots. Chloe waved her hands in the air in an attempt to get my attention but I didn't care. I needed to get Luke and Caroline kissing out of my head. "Maybe you caught me on a bad night. Maybe tomorrow I'll be just fine.
Maybe it's the red wine. That put you back in my mind. Why'd you have to come back in right then. Right when I was just getting good and gone? Guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. You must've heard I was moving on. Then right out of the blue. A quarter past two, I'm all about you. When I was just about, just about over you, oh, oh
I was just about over you."

Finishing the song the microphone slipped from my hands and I spun around on my feet bolting from the stage and out into the alleys of Nashville. Tears started falling down my face faster than before. I pressed my hands onto the brick wall feeling my heart beating fast. The door to the alley opened where I felt someone grab my shoulder. I swung around about to punch who I thought was Luke but it turns out to be Chloe. "Y/n, look you need to listen to him. I wanted to kick his ass too until he told me what actually happened."

Spinning around on my feet I got in her face baring my teeth at her. "He's a freaking liar Chloe. He takes me on a date and let's me sing on stage with him. Only in the end to make his wife to come back. I can't trust what he says Chloe...I just can't!" She pushed me in front of her where I saw Luke standing directly in front of me crying just like I am.

He runs his fingers through his hair he slumped his shoulders. "Y/n, I know what it looked like tonight. But you have to know that I didn't kiss her. I didn't kiss Caroline. She kissed me-"

I raised my hand stomping away from him thankful that I knew the way back to the hotel. "Goodbye Thomas Bryan!"
