Cowboy's Question

Luke and I had slipped out of the cabin while everyone else including Chloe partyed the night away. She was right though that I would thank her later about calling him. If she hadn't I wouldn't have gotten to sing with him tonight which is something I never thought would happen. We kept walking up we were back at his truck with a perfect view of the stars above. He put down the tailgate helping me climb up then sits beside me. Leaning back on my hands I allowed for some silence but I bite my lip not being able to take the fact that this is really happening. "So I have to ask. Why'd you give me your phone number at the concert the other night?"

He smiled seeing that I'm still wearing his ball cap on my head. He reaches up flipping it around backwards on my head. "Because I immediately felt something for you."

Throwing my head back I have to wonder how many times he's said that to a girl and then ended up sleeping with her. I would like to believe that he's nice and wouldn't do that. But he literally can get any to fall at his feet just because he's the biggest star in country music at the moment. "How many times have you used that pick up line?" I try to make it sound like a joke coming from me.

He shakes his head intertwining his hands together in front of him. "It's not a pick up line darlin'. I gave it to you for a reason Y/n. The reason is because I feel something for you that I haven't ever felt before. Even with the first love of my life. So I'm take a jump here and ask will you go on a date with me?" He shifted to fully face me and I'm glad it's dark so he can't see me blushing like crazy when I answered him.

"Sure..." He smiled before we heard music blaring from the cabin which was in fact one of his songs that is my favorite.

"Should we go join them it sounds like it's picking up in there?" I asked pointing up towards the cabin. He gets to his holding his hands out for me helping down and starts twirling me around in circles singing yet again. Although this time I smiled knowing that nobody was watching if I messed up or anything so I started dancing around silly with him. "Said we'd leave in one more minute. One passed by, but we didn't. "Down to 1 a.m. Listenin' to one more song. Thinkin' I want more than just one night out here with you alone. Down to that last Bud Light. In the back of that two-tone, half-ton. My heart was tellin' me that one more kiss, and I'd be done. Down to one hand in mine. Down to one beautiful smile. I was done with the girl I want. Straight fallin' in love, right there that night. Down to one. I was saying, "Stay with me. I'll be everything you need". We were way past 1 a.m. Listenin' to one more song. Thinkin' I want more than just one night out here with you alone..." Luke and I intertwined hands starting to dance around in front of the tailgate of his truck. The stars and moon shinning above us. The blows my hair around but I never stopped smiling at this feeling. Being around hin like this was fun. In my mind this is our stage and the sky is the audience watching us. I can still see him dancing around across that stage having the time of his life. I for sure know Chloe and I did that night...and this night afterwards too.

Luke suddenly picked me up spinning me around in the air causing me a start laughing until he set me back on my feet tugging me against his chest. "I was saying, "Stay with Me. I'll be everything you need". Down to one. Down to one." He whispered the last part of the song staring directly into my eyes. Resting my hands on his shoulders I slump my shoulders waiting to see if he would lean in like did in the cabin. Where I thought he was going to kiss me. I've never actually had a first kiss yet. I've had some boyfriend's but none that really led anywhere. I would literally be on cloud 9 if he was my first kiss. He rests his forehead against mine softly breathing out. "Come on tour with me, Y/n."

"Luke I...I can't do that..." I trailed off when he raised a brow at me.

"Why not?"

Shaking my head I shrugged my shoulders thinking anyone else would jump on the opportunity immediately without a thought. "Because I - my best friend is here. And I'm trying to write my next book. It's my job. I can't just go run off on tour with you."

He takes my hands in his giving me puppy dog eyes that are hard to resist. "Please just consider it. We would be traveling and that could give you ideas for your next book. Look I just know that I want to spend more time with you. So come with me...I'll even get Chloe a spot on the tour if that's what it will take for you to say yes."

Tilting my head I sighed heavy where I finally caved in because he wouldn't stop giving me the puppy eyes. "I'll go with you...yes I'll go on tour with you. Chloe's gotta come that's part of the deal."

He smiled wrapping his arms around me in a hug lifting me off the ground again. Gripping his shirt I squealed with a smile on my face where he sits me back down on my feet pulling out his phone video calling his manager. The person that comes up is actually Chloe who has a beer in her hands. "Chloe, where's my manager?" He asked seeing her dancing to the music saying.

"He's off getting me another drink. Lukey I gotta say he's cute...so you two kiss yet?" I could tell she was starting to get drunk by the tone in her voice.

I smiled laying my head on his shoulder telling her knowing she might not remember an hour later. "I've got a better suprise Chlo. He's taking us on tour."

She nearly spit out her drink before his manager came back draping an arm over her shoulder smiling. "Shut up. Lukey, I love you!" Luke and I chuckled hanging up the phone with her watching the stars above in the sky.
