It's been two weeks since Luke's ex Caroline brought his two sons with us. Chloe enjoys playing with them as well as me. The next stop to perform is Dallas Texas. I'm laying on the long couch a notebook in my lap while I tapped a pen against my knees in thought. I am still trying to figure out what my next book will be. I start writing something down when the door gets opened and I saw it was Luke carrying a notebook in his grinning about something. Scrubbing my pen across the page I groaned tossing my book. "Woah Y/n. You alright?"
Bending my head down to my knees I sighed running my hands through my hair. "I can't think of a book idea. Everything I write down I'm not. What's the word, feeling it you know?" He nodded sitting down beside me on the couch where I noticed the books writing was for a new song.
"How's the songs coming along cowboy?"
He hands me the notebook so I could read the lyrics rubbing the back of his neck nervous. "It's finished. It's supposed to be a duet though that's the only problem."
I snorted with a smile to him jokingly. "I'm sure Chloe would be over the moon to help you, Lukey." He flashed me a grin chuckling lightly alongside me.
"You start. I'll try and keep up." He nodded to my request staring at the paper together with me. He cleared his throat starting to sing his line. "Do you want it on the rocks?"
I read over the line instead of really singing. "A double shot of heaven."
He started again before we joined together. "And we'll go. Shot, for shot, for shot
'Til we forgot what we came here to forget. Ain't a clock, a tick, a tock, that's gonna stop. A night we won't regret. So put your drink down, throw your camera up. Flip it around and snap a payback picture."Shifting I faced him completely comfortable singing with him like this. "I'll send it to my ex." He sung back smiling. "I'll send it to my ex."
We jumped to our feet dancing in front of each other. "And send them both a text saying. "We ain't going home alone tonight". Girl you ain't gotta, I ain't gotta go. Home alone tonight." Luke grabs my hand twirling me around and underneath his arms still singing our hearts out. Chloe was off playing with the boys so this is the first time we have been alone together.
I grinned attempting to twirl him but it doesn't go as well since he's taller than me. "Shot, for shot, for shot. Til we forgot what we came here to forget. Ain't a clock, a tick, a tock, that's gonna stop. A night we won't regret. So put your drink down, throw your camera up. Flip it around and snap a payback picture." He spun my back into his front arms draped over my shoulders. "I'll send it to my ex."
He whispered brushing his nose against mine smiling. "I'll send it to my ex." I sang back leaning up about to kiss him until the door opened and we heard a group of clapping and cheering.
Luke and I turned our heads seeing Chloe with Tate and Bo standing in the doorway grinning like crazy. Tate points a finger at me. "Daddy, Y/n can sing." Luke unwrapped his arms from me resting his hands on my waist instead. His chin resting on my shoulder.
"That she can Tate. That she can." Laying my head back against his chest I spoke to my best friend sensing Luke wanted to say more with them not in the room.
"Hey Chloe could you get the boys ready. I'm gonna help him practice more." She nodded sending a wink on the way out. Once we're alone again I turned in his arms wrapping my arms around his neck smiling. "What are you thinking Mr. Bryan?" I asked since he was looking down at me longingly with a smile.
"Are you sure you never thought about becoming a musician. Because you're pretty good at it and you have a beautiful voice." Laying my head on his chest he rests his chin ontop feeling me sigh in relief.
"Once a long time ago I did. But I get nervous preforming in front of a bunch of people. Cause I didn't feel comfortable doing it...until I sang with you that night at the cabin." He smiled until I pull out of his embrace going to get ready for the concert tonight since we were almost to the stadium.
Luke decided to wear a white flannel with light blue jeans and black boots. Wearing a black baseball cap the norm way. I was in a light pink tank top with laced all around it. Torn blue jeans and tan sandles. My hair completely loose except for a little pulled back. Chloe insisted we stand in the front row with Tate and Bo since we hadn't done that yet with them. Everyone around us was cheering and I even heard some muttering about me his new girl. Yet once he took the stage all my concerns went away. The song went from I Don't Want This Night To End to Crash My Party. Luke danced around the stage signing some girls posters of him and some guys ball caps. Tate and Bo were dancing around with me and Chloe having loads of fun until Luke tapped his microphone speaking to the whole audience. "Alright ladies and gentlemen of Dallas Texas to close out the show I want to bring someone very special in my life right now up onto the stage to sing with me."
I gasped gripping the VIP pass around my neck feeling instantly nervous. Chloe on the other hand was overjoyed like his kids when he walked to the edge of the stage. The spotlight followed as he bend down on a knee holding out his freehand for me to take wanting to pull me up with him. "Y/n L/n, would you do a duet with me?"
To be continued...
